O'Reilly just tried to make up some nonsense (as always) about Iraq and Vietnam. O'Reilly's guest was Lt. Gen. Mcinerney, who explained to BOR that it takes years to develop good company, battalion and division commanders and this will take 5 to 10 years to achieve in Iraq.
O'Reilly pontificates and tells Mcinerney that in Vietnam our advisors ran the South Vietnamese units and we just trained the Vietnamese footsoldiers and that worked pretty good and we should do the same in Iraq and the real problem is we don't have enough Iraqi "riflemen" to take orders from our advisors like we did in Vietnam and "isn't that right?"
It was beautiful when Mcinerney said calmly "No, I don't think it is right" and Mcinerney further explains that HE WAS an advisor in Vietnam and he NEVER commanded the Vietnamese units, they of course had their own leaders and he only gave them advice and support.
O'Reilly being what he is, he of course interrupted Mcinerney and somehow pretended he hadn't just been smashed in the face with his own pie, and switched to the other guest. O'Reilly makes up so much based on his own egotistic bloviating it was great watching someone who knew what they were talking about calmly tell O'Reilly he's full of it.
Newbie!
O'Reilly always talks to his audience (especially on the radio) as though he's speaking to a 12-year-old child. It is so insulting I can't stand 10 seconds of him.

Thanks for the post. Would have enjoyed seeing that.
I like ol' Bill, but I definitely think his success has gone to his head, starting from when he first blew Larry King away in the ratings.
Bill O' Reilly. Hmmm. Sounds familiar.
Didn't he have a book for sale or something???
Note to liberals and BOR: "The jungles of Vietnam are as different from the deserts of Iraq as - well, the jungles of Vietnam and the deserts of Iraq."
I saw part of that. What's with Hunt these days? Very critical of the war--and originally, he wasn't. McInerny did well, and made both of them look like idiots.
Bill is a noise box with an Irishman built around it. He amuses me in an annoying sort of way.
Over rated O'Reilly. I can't stand him, and how he remains such a draw for Fox is beyond my comprehension.
Ping
O'Reilly - someone who thinks they know everything & never admits when they don't...a bad combo. I was suprised he didn't get a 'Factor Gear' mention into the conversation.
Nobody listens to him on the radio so he has to do this stuff on TV.....
O'Reilly is the king of cable, like him or not.
One the things that never ceases to amaze about BOR is what an economic nitwit he is !
His understanding of economics is about at the middle school level. (Of course which about the same as any democrat labor activist !)
Saw it and couldn't believe Bill was being so stupid!
BOR jumped the shark about two years ago
