I need the best... don't mean a good opinion, personal anecdotal stories...a great argument against gay marriage. I'm in a very very civil discussion (as strange as it may sound) on another bulletin board. I'm the only heterosexual, let alone Conservative and it's been very interesting. But it always comes down to Gay Marriage. And, frankly, besides the religious argument that can always be overruled by civil arguments, I'm gonna lose this one...I know one of you brilliant people have at one time posted something brilliant about it...or know of a journalist who has written something brilliant about it. On this one...I admit...I'm at a loss. Thank you.
A straight couple that cannot (or I suppose does not want to) have kids is not normal. Should couples who can't bear children not be allowed to marry?
Because it's Adam & Eve, not Adam & Steve.
cymbal crash
Good points.
God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.
It was quite comprehensive, following the degradation of their society in general after gay marriage became the norm.
In essence, because marriage is generally seen as a union for the raising of children, when a society sees gay marriage as normal, there becomes no reason for anyone to GET married. The majority of children there are now born out of wedlock, and parents either don't live with each other at all or they don't stay together because there is no commitment.
It is a good article and spans quite a lot of time.
Gay marriage is not about gay people getting married. It is one of the many tools used by liberals to destroy our traditional culture.
And personally, I don't know any gay people who even give a rat's patootie about getting married.
Why go through the outhouse when the funhouse is right next door?
When a male and female have unprotected sex the result is a baby in normal circumstances. Whether you believe in God or not this will happen. You belief system makes no difference. It is the way nature intended for it to happen.
Of course this will only happen between a male and female. What happens in gay sex? Is there any procreation? What happens? This is a non-natural union. It is only for their own pleasure. You can take it from there.
So you ARE taking the position that a couple who can't have children shouldn't marry?
It's bio-illogical.
G-d created marriage as the best possible circumstance in which to procreate and raise the next generation of mankind.
Because that's what marriage IS (a man and a woman). Tell me any culture anywhere, anyplace where a society, let alone a moral one, has accepted such depravity?
They need to leave their friend's behind!!
It's like listening to Ozzy talk in favor of drugs.
The more you listen, the more you just can't watch.
I believe the best argument is that we are supposed to be living in a country where huge changes in the social structure are not made against the wishes of a significant majority of the population.
I said it once elsewhere, but it's still true. It's not marriages gays want, it's weddings. Any excuse to look fabulous and party all night.
Otherwise, everything that's the real purpose of marriage - monogamy, fidelity, lifetime commitment, and the raising of children - is directly contrary to the entire gay ethos and lifestyle. Promiscuous sex without responsibility is the defining element of homosexuality (at least of the male variety). Marriage is the defining element of heterosexuality, as it conforms exactly to what women want from men in return for sexual favors.
1) Its filth.
2) Marraige is a word that means a bond between a man a woman.
3) It destroys families and communities.
