The 1990's were an unprecedented period of intelligence failures.

Posted on 11/29/2005 8:36:34 AM PST by JohnRand

When you reflect on the 1990's it is amazing the number of intelligence failures from the first bombing of the World Trade Center, WMD in Iraq, numerous terrorist attacks on US interests around the world and including but not limited to India and Pakistan developing nuclear weapons. Is any of this included in the Clinton Presidential library?

Clinton's foreign policy: "See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil, and if somebody throws bombs your way, sweep it under the rug!"

Dam straight they were. The folking CIA needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. Satellites will NEVER replace human intell. Courage and wits are what is called for, not a bunch of bureaucratic bullsheet.

Are you kidding?? The MSM and these talking head show pundits all love to read off the same tired script and to obsessively rant about how Bush will never admit to mistakes, but when the hell we ever see Bill Clinton admit to any mistakes other than when confronted with DNA evidence? And did anyone in the media ever demand Bill Clinton admit to his multitudes of mistakes in governance and security policy?

How about even asking him to do so now that we see in full bloom the results of Clinton's reign of incompetence, such as the intelligence failures and purposeful hobbling of the intelligence agencies that prevented us from uncovering the 9-11 plots, North Korea getting nukes after being paid $4 billion in protection money to NK to end their nukes program in 1994 and yet they had a warhead by 1999 according to the CIA, the wrecked economy Clinton left (which Bush has now put right) or the undealt with situation with Saddam's Iraq Clinton just handed off to Bush? Oh that's right, I guess you can't admit to mistakes when the media views you as not having made any.

Begs the questions:

1) Why did Bush keep Tenent (a holdover from the Klintoon years) on after he took office.
2) Give the Medal of Freedom to this clown AFTER the CIA on his watch was shown to be deficient in its duties?

The Clinton administration merely delivered the coup de grace to an intelligence apparatus that was gutted by Jimmy Carter, Stansfield Turner, Frank Church and the late seventies Democrat Congress. Behind almost every problem there is a Democrat solution.
