TRY AGAIN, MR. PRESIDENT -- THOSE WERE EMPTY WORDS [The Presidnet's Amnesty Program]
Neal Boortz ^ | Nov. 29, 2005 | Neal Boortz

Posted on 11/29/2005 5:25:04 AM PST by conservativecorner

Yesterday, George W. Bush strode to a podium in Tucson, Arizona (I love Tucson!) and against a backdrop of law enforcement officers, announced his latest plan to crack down on illegal aliens. There was nothing in his speech we haven't heard before, and his new immigration policy is just as contradictory as the old one. Among the initiatives announced:

We should build more jail cells to hold illegal aliens. Good idea. The speeding up of deportations, a crackdown on fraudulent identity papers, and a hardening of the border with more surveillance. So far, so good. Then the nonsense started to flow. The president urged Congress to pass his guest-worker amnesty program and repeated the nonsense that the illegal aliens are here "to fill jobs that Americans will not do."

Same old, same old. It is impossible to stand there and say you're going to crack down on illegal immigration while at the same time say that you are going to reward people who broke our immigration laws. The president says it's not amnesty. Ok, now we've finally caught the president in a lie. OF COURSE it's amnesty! When you tell someone who has broken the law that you are not only going to ignore their illegal conduct, but you are actually going to reward them for it, then you have more than plain old garden variety amnesty, you have amnesty with perks!

As for the oft-repeated line that the illegal aliens fill jobs Americans won't, that's also a load. Companies may not be able to fill those jobs with Americans at the same low wages they pay Mexicans, but there are plenty of people in this country that would do the work at the right price. OK .. so the price of headless chickens, landscaping and construction might go up, but at least the people receiving those paychecks would be law-abiding residents of this country, most of whom would be citizens. There is something wrong with the idea of celebrating lower home prices when those lower prices are brought with disrespect for the laws of our country. It gets worse than that. We are threatening our very security by singing the praises of illegal aliens in our workforce. Just two weeks ago we were interviewing a Texas congressman who was telling us that U.S. intelligence agencies have knowledge that Al Qaeda terrorists have moved to Mexico, adopted Hispanic identities, learned the Spanish language, and then moved right into the United States across our porous borders.

George Bush failed to address the problem appropriately yesterday, but this isn't strictly a George Bush issue. There is absolutely no willingness on the part of either political party to crack down on illegal immigration. There are simply too many votes to be had in the Hispanic community. So as a result, our security as a nation is threatened and our cities and states are overrun with illegal aliens.

I'm sure representatives of Al-Qaeda are preparing to apply for their guest-worker permits as we speak.

The estimated costs of educating illegal aliens and their children
exceed 28.6 billion dollars in 2004 alone.

With states straining under gaping budget shortfalls, public schools throughout the country are facing some of the most significant decreases in state education funding in decades. In some states, drastic cuts mean lay-offs for teachers, larger class sizes, fewer textbooks, and eliminating sports, language programs, and after-school activities. Nearly two-thirds of the states have cut back or proposed reductions in support for childcare and early childhood programs. Some are even shortening the school week from five days to four.

While these massive budget deficits cannot be attributed to any single source, the enormous impact of large-scale illegal immigration cannot be ignored. The total K-12 school expenditure for illegal immigrants costs the states nearly $12 billion annually, and when the children born here to illegal aliens are added, the costs more than double to $28.6 billion.1

This enormous expenditure of the taxpayers’ hard-earned contributions does not, however, represent the total costs. Special programs for non-English speakers are an additional fiscal burden as well as a hindrance to the overall learning environment. A recent study found that dual language programs represent an additional expense of $290 to $879 per pupil depending on the size of the class.2 In addition, because these children of illegal aliens come from families that are most often living in poverty, there is also a major expenditure for them on supplemental feeding programs in the schools. Those ancillary expenditures have not been included in the calculations in this report.

The data presented here provide yet one more illustration of the costs of turning a blind eye to illegal immigration and should provide further impetus for states to demand that the federal government finally take effective and decisive action to restore integrity to our nation's immigration laws.

What the hell do we need a guest worker program for when there are 12 million illegals already? Also, more empty words and smoke being blow up our a$$e$. How about punishing employers who employ illegal aliens and under cut businesses who obey the laws? No words for that. How about eliminating citizenship baby's of criminal aliens? Not only empty words, but NO WORDS.

Enforce the laws on the books first, then we can entertain a "guest worker" program which I will still be against.

What Would It Cost to Deport Illegal Aliens?
By Mac Johnson
Posted Aug 1, 2005

Imagine that you came home tomorrow and found a stranger living in your home. Would you pay $148 to have him removed, or would you instead just legally adopt him and give him the run of the place to save the $148? The Center for American Progress, a liberal think tank in Washington, D.C., thinks the “practical” thing to do would be to adopt the “undocumented family member” that broke into your home.

The FROBL side is shrinking, and the pro-border control side is growing larger everyday. And I think you and your ludicrous posts deserve part of the credit.

I have maintained that unless we gain control of our borders everything else is just fluff.

However this country is not going to turn into a paradise once we fix the illegal immigration.

We seem to be blaming illegal immigrants for everything, unemployment, high costs, low wages, crime, bad weather.

Hey thanks niccy, another democrat special interest group you are silent about, the teachers union(NEA).

Gee never a word from you about giving parents choice in educating their children or any criticism of those getting in the way of that goal(the NEA).

Only animus towards a guy named Jose tarring a roof, or a lady named Maria housekeeping a hotel room.

Ok let me see if I got this correct, per spiffy logic, spiff admits that trial lawyers and unions are a major problem in the modern American health care mess, but because a thread is only about illegal aliens, and part of the problem of the modern American health care mess, it is not allowed to mention the trial lawyers and unions, and any mention of the trial lawyers or unions elicits a reaction of akin to a person holding up their hands to their ears shouting "lalalalalala, I don't hear you, this thread is only about illegal aliens, and any mention of the trial lawyers and unions contributing to the health care mess is forbidden".

Weak. Again.

In fact, the thread is about illegal immigration and Bush's lame attempt to sucker his base into thinking that he's going to get tough on the issue. You jumped into the thread, put your fingers in YOUR ears, bleated "Lalalala...I'm not listening...the problems are ALL caused by "union mentality" and "slimeball trial lawyers" and you all support them along with abortion and gay marriage and you hate people named Jose and Maria...Lalalala!!!" And you were summarily and loudly smacked down for your infantile behavior. Give it up and get lost. May I recommend a few internet forums where you and your point of view may be more welcome: QuislingCentral.com, invaders_R_us.com, losersanonymous.org, etc.

I've made plenty of criticisms against the NEA and school vouchers, but made those criticisms on NEA/SCHOOL CHOICE threads.

Where were you?

This thread is about ILLEGAL ALIENS and their effects on America and Americans; its not a thread abut the NEA, or teachers unions, or phonics, or whole language, or evolution, or creation, or trial lawyers, or unions, or school vouchers, or marijuana, or the war on drugs, or preservatives, or additives, or Nestle's tea (though a discussion of illegal aliens's effects might well encompass many of the items listed).

If you want to talk about anything specifically listed above, please ping me to such a thread.

But this one is about ILLEGAL ALIENS and their effects on and costs to America and American society.

Uh but all those issues are intertwined, which you refuse to see, IMO.

JMO, you are acting like the liberals back during clinton's impeachment, where they put perjury and obstruction in a box, and said it was all about sex.

What the hell do we need a guest worker program for when there are 12 million illegals already?

We already have a guest worker program. Included are the B1, H1B, L1, E1 and E2 Visas issued by the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services who is part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. However, the criminal invaders and their criminal employers choose to ignore the current guest worker program. Why would anyone except for the most brain dead think that suddenly the criminal invaders and criminal employers are going to pay any attention to or abide by another program?

This thread is about illegals, Dane.

Why do continue to deflect and shift topics to anything other than discussing illegals and their cost to Americans and American society?
