Joe Wilson Hints at Impeachment
Newsmax ^ | Nov. 28, 2005

Leakgate accuser Joe Wilson hinted at the prospect of impeachment Monday morning while discussing the "betrayal of national security" entailed by the outing of his CIA employee-wife, saying that he hoped the case wouldn't result in "a constitutional crisis."

Asked if he thought the leaking of his wife's name by Cheney chief of staff Lewis Libby was sanctioned by White House higher-ups, Wilson told WABC Radio's "Curtis & Kuby":

"It is clear that Mr. Libby and Mr. Rove were acting - but whether they were acting independently or not is something for [Leakgate prosecutor Patrick] Fitzgerald to determine."

Wilson then explained: "It does strike me that, normally in an organization, the chief of staff does not act completely separate from his principal."

Adopting a tone of mock regret, the aggrieved ex-diplomat declared: "Now I would hope, of course, that this tawdry political act of illegality and betrayal of national security does not become a constitutional crisis."

Asked what actual damage his wife had suffered since she was not undercover at the time of her outing, Wilson declined to respond directly, saying only:

"[Bush officials] decided that they were going to use the enormous power of the White House communications office to try to destroy us. I have had no choice but to defend myself."

True. That being said, if dems have control of the senate, the president would still lose the vote for conviction while falling short of the 2/3 vote. So then you will have a lame duck, impeached president who lost the vote for conviction 54-46, though not enough to get him out of office.

This would compromise the GOP for a long while. Ignore this at your peril.

This sick SOB, Wilson, needs to be prosecuted. He has caused more than his fair share of expense and trouble for the taxpayers over his BS accusations. Even Fitz---(whatever) seems to indicate that no law was violated in this matter.

What job does he want in the next Democrat administration?

Oh, Im sure he feels that he should be SOS. I wish I could be there when Hillary picks Donna Shalala as SecSate. The look on lyin Joes face would be priceless. You see, Lyin Joe is just a tool, not an asset. Once interest wanes in the Plame Game, he will fade away like Michael Moore, Murtha, Al-Sheehadi, the Jersey girls and all the other poor "usees" that have been trundled out but the MSM to make a point..

Yep. Someone pointed out (rightly) that the dems couldn't get 2/3 of the senate to vote to convict even if they had control of the Senate. That's true, but the president would still lose the vote for conviction, even if not by enough to actually remove him out of office.

Only the most genuinely myopic Freeper would think this wouldn't case residual damage to the GOP.

Because of Wilson and Sheehan hogging the spotlight, millions will never get their fifteen minutes.

This whole affair reveals the vacuity of the mainstream media's case against Bush. First, it had to be an engineered ruse, it had to pervert the language and the law, and requires constant and concerted resuscitation to keep it from succumbing naturally.

Moron. Like any prosecutor Fitzgeralds job is not to determine whether a crime was committed. That is a question for the "trier of fact". Wilson is once again turning an accusation of guilt into a presumption of guilt.

1. We are not going to lose the House. Redistricting has made it almost impossible for the Rats to take it.

2. Even if we lose the Senate, we would have to lose an astounding number of seats in order to get a conviction, which is 2/3 of the members. And that is presuming that the House would impeach, which they won't.

3. This is the democrat dream which is nothing but that. The only reason polls matter is that the weak-kneed Republicans get scared and start making assinine comments on the talk shows and voting for stupid resolutions.

The only impeachment we'll see will be the impeachment of Wilson's credibility, which has already occurred.

Put this clown under oath and make him read his June 2003 NY Times Op-Ed, and you'd have more perjury charges against him than Fitzgerald brought against Libby.

IT WON'T BE AS LONG AS A DEMOCRAT (AKA SANDY BERGLER) COMMITTS THE BETRAYAL.

"[Bush officials] decided that they were going to use the enormous power of the White House communications office to try to destroy us. I have had no choice but to defend myself."

What a crock! This guy has been spouting IMPEACHMENT for months now - everytime that ridiculous Errhead America have him on they prattle on about how they have Bush right where they want him, but they cannot get the Repub out of the way in the House. Errhead America is dedicated to helping the RATS take over the House in 2006, they Senate and WH can wait for later.

C'mon Karl I dare you, please destroy me now.

I still have trouble understanding the supposed non-official cover that Wilson claims she had. If she was a NOC the CIA would disavow any knowledge of her existence, according to my understanding of the term.

My old tag line was: The only NOC list that contained the name of Valerie Plame was stolen by Ethan Hunt.

Decent movie (Mission Impossible), even if it did star Tom Cruise. I'm still waiting for the old IMF shows to be made into DVDs.

After we couldn't remove a proven liar and perjurer from office?

No chance whatsoever. Exactly what high crime or misdemeanor could they charge GWB with? He has already been exonerated of changing intelligence by the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Impeachment is just a liberal wet dream.

Heads UP, People.

If we do not get out and work for GOP candidates, and contribute to their campaigns, we will lose the House. Impeachment will follow soon after.

You can sit and cross your arms over spending or immigration, and if you do you will watch impeachment hearings on TV.

There is no middle ground here. Work to keep the House, or watch impeachment on TV.
