True. That being said, if dems have control of the senate, the president would still lose the vote for conviction while falling short of the 2/3 vote. So then you will have a lame duck, impeached president who lost the vote for conviction 54-46, though not enough to get him out of office.

This would compromise the GOP for a long while. Ignore this at your peril.

Be his fault for p/oing the conservative base. Next time a Republican is handed the Presidency with a Republican Congress, he needs to do something worthwhile - not just piss it away - or spend like and legislate like a Democrat.
We in the newly minted minority will just have to pray for gridlock.

Convicted for what? Where is the impeachable offense? Come on...Fitzy can't even get an indictment for the (non)crime that was alleged and you think the dingbat dems can get articles of impeachment through the congress?
