I'm looking forward to Æon Flux this week, although Charlize Theron was obviously chosen more for her being "flavor of the month" than physical similiarity. Although smaller, Jennifer Love Hewitt has resemblance but either of the Beckinsdale sisters would have been nice.
It also appears to a bit slicker. I should stop with the "purist" act.

I highly recommend the movie, lainie.
Both are very good actors. I think Reese was amazing.

Because of EMP... of course.

The thing that I remember about "The Day After" most was the way all the cars stopped running. I never did understand why.If they stopped while they were running, I'm going to guess that they tried for the Electromagnetic Pulse that all nuclear devices emit when they go off. Basically, unshielded and switched-on electronics cease as soon as they are hit by the pulse. Since modrn cars run with the assistance of the assistance of the battery, I'm guessing the pulse will cause them to roll to a stop. (Not an engineer of any kind. Just a guess...)

No, most people don't realize what a weakness this presents to our country. You don't need direct drops of nuc bombs and it will do more damage.

Thanks for the info. Seems like that's what they used in the plot last season on "24," too.

I wonder how bad the traffic was heading west out of Vegas. It's traditionally horrific traffic.

3 US Congressmen in Humvee Rollover in Baghdad...two hospitalized.
In another FR thread they talked about new IED-proof vehicles.

what the heck is going on???? Mat's show is supposed to run to 1:00 on WRKO and now they are playing Coast to Coast.
To: Milhous
Wonder if Arnold, or his missus, will want one of those, too? The extendable, rotatable cow-catcher is a trip! That's a whole lotta truck!

Are they playing an hour from last night's C2C with Ian Punnett? Some stations have been doing that on the East Coast.
To: Cheapskate
He's played Avalon before? Well, I shouldn't be surprised...

well, I found a Houston radio station playing Drudge. That sure is odd though.
WRKO is usually a well run station
