Anti-"Sport Hunting"

Posted on 11/26/2005 11:22:01 PM PST by FranklySpeaking

Any psuedo "sport-hunting", posing poser, tree-standing, duckblinding, inadequate, floundering, hunterering bozo who wants to kill any defenseless beautiful animal like any one of these needs to check and re-check their thinking. God is watching.

Ok, I have stood by quietly and watched your antics. You have been a good little DU'er, you have fomented several quotes you can take back to Koz, BartCop, DU or whatever liberal trash heap you crawled out of. You can feel intellectual superior because, in your own feeble mind, you have "put these repugs down" (sound familiar??)...In case you havn't caught on "Frank" you are now being ignored. So go back to your knitting...

----Antics? I guess you don't realize the clarity of my opinions. I don't belong, nor have I EVER posted on any of those other sites you mentioned. I'm more Conservative than you'll ever know. Just different from you, I reckon.

Semper Fi ---Semper Fi to you too, brother. I bow at the honor of the Marines, and respect the Corps, fully.

Don't know what else to say.........except I don't "knit". I played rugby and prefer basketball to baseball. The 'real' Sports, IMO.

"Trophies of dead life on walls? Sounds like a perfect description of many crucifixes."

That was really weird.....and twisted.

Animal Trophies on the wall are what I was referring to, Vern.

Try and keep score.

Silly, twisted and completely sad and unnecessary.

On the contrary, Vern, it is this very thread that you have started that is silly, sad, and unnecessary.

The bottom line is that Jesus, by his words and deeds, endorsed the sacrifical system. This means, of course, that he endorsed the wholesale killing of innocent, relatively helpless animals, and the systematic draining of their blood and separation of their organs, and ultimately the burning of much of same. How can you claim that this practice is any more, uh, pleasant than a kill from a hunt? What, do you think the priests sang sweet songs into their ears as the knife was inserted? Gave them a last smoke and a drink of wine first?

And what was the animals' crime, that that they would be subject to such cruelty? Being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and nothing more. Which was the point: they did nothing to deserve the fate to which they were consigned; it was because of the sins of God-fearing people that they were slaughtered.

And Jesus apparently supported that practice, since he himself became such a sacrifice.

Now I'm not saying that Jesus would approve of trophy hunting. But nor am I saying he would condemn it; because, unlike you, I dare not speak where the Bible is silent. Your attempt to provide Scriptural support was feeble at best, including your incredibly strained attempt to invoke the Holy Trinity to claim that Jesus said Psalm 50.

All I'm saying is that Jesus was not nearly as limpwristed as you might like him to be. He was one tough fellow.

You use a duckblind for deer hunting? Man, I got to try that. Congratulations on the deer.

Tell the truth, I don't know how duckblinding got highlighted, We were at the edge of a field and he just happened along, was lucky, especially since I had my grandson with me. Thanks.

...and why, exactly, should anyone, except your mother, give a sh!t, about anything, you have to say, about anything?

You poesy sniffing, bunny hugging, "feel the force", "Gaia is mother", Birkenstock wearing, granola crunching, "the hive as the model world", neutered, sheepel, are pitiful; you just gotta share your misery, you just gotta screw with folks.

Please, just stay down there, snuggled up in some hive, suckling some socialist fraud's teat, because you would be in the way, and just take up space, out here in NON-hive America.

PS: the above question was rhetorical, I really don't care.

PSS: There isn't a d@mned thing you or anyone else can do to stop folks from hunting. I'm sure that it would be OK with you and your ilk, if we returned to the times of the "King's forest". Where men would forfeit their lives for taking the "King's" game.

Dream on.

We wuz sneaking up on some turkeys at Fort Hunter Liggett awhile back and when we spied this guy and his friends. Dern if Ricky didn't drop him close to the road even. Easy drag out in the dark with a cougar prowling in nearby brush trying for some free porkchops. About soiled myself when he snarled.

Dang rooter was a big as me, took 3 of us to hang his big butt on the scale at the skinning shack. 298 lbs on the hoof with no toofas at all. Thank god we had enough rope to get him up out of the hole he rolled into. Ricky popped him with a 7mm mag. Another guy busted the hogs out of a swale below us and this fatso had to take a breather about 2/3 the way up the ridge. That's when Ricky let the air out of him. Poor pig was just catching his breath and WHAM!!! right in the ribs. That porker still cleared the ridge leaking oil out both sides. Tough motor scooters them pigs.

Sorry, that term is not in the Bible which makes it unbiblical.

Uh, so are a lot of terms used to describe aspects of theology. That doesn't in itself make a concept unbiblical.

Having said that, his invocation of the Trinity to justify his claim that Jesus "said" Psalm 50 is too strained to be credible. The author of the Psalms wrote them under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, a different person of the Trinity. No doubt Jesus ultimately shared responsibility in a very technical sense, but nobody would take that so far as FS did.
