Sympathetic Vibrations (Non-partisan poll is bad news for anti-war dems)

Democrats fumed last week at Vice President Cheney's suggestion that criticism of the administration's war policies was itself becoming a hindrance to the war effort. But a new poll indicates most Americans are sympathetic to Cheney's point.
Seventy percent of people surveyed said that criticism of the war by Democratic senators hurts troop morale -- with 44 percent saying morale is hurt "a lot," according to a poll taken by RT Strategies. Even self-identified Democrats agree: 55 percent believe criticism hurts morale, while 21 percent say it helps morale.
The results surely will rankle many Democrats, who argue that it is patriotic and supportive of the troops to call attention to what they believe are deep flaws in President Bush's Iraq strategy. But the survey itself cannot be dismissed as a partisan attack. The RTs in RT Strategies are Thomas Riehle, a Democrat, and Lance Tarrance, a veteran GOP pollster.
Their poll also indicates many Americans are skeptical of Democratic complaints about the war. Just three of 10 adults accept that Democrats are leveling criticism because they believe this will help U.S. efforts in Iraq. A majority believes the motive is really to "gain a partisan political advantage."
This poll is one of the few pieces of supportive news the administration has had lately on Iraq. Most surveys have shown significant majorities believe it was a mistake to go to war, as well as rising sentiment that Bush misled Americans in making the case for it.
Even so, there is still support for Bush's policy going forward. A plurality, 49 percent, believe that troops should come home only when the Iraqi government can provide for its own security, while 16 percent support immediate withdrawal, regardless of the circumstances.

Poor Tom Noe. At first, Republican candidates were thrilled...

403-3. The Democrats are such gutless cowards. Even Jihad Cindy, their poster child for cut and run, is on the wrong side of history.

They know that won't win them any elections so they are now going to shift gears and say we can win in Iraq but we NEED the Democrats to do it
National Security has been the Achilles heel of the Democratic Party since Vietnam. From a tactical point of view their best foreign policy would be total silence for several years leading up to a presidential election, and then say "we support the President" whenever asked about it.
Hillary fully understands this reality.
Fortunately their moonbat base (which includes media types) just can't manage to put some ice on it. :-)
They are playing the game on our turf--they will lose every time.

There are lots of things honest people can disagree about honestly and in good faith. I have never felt this was one of them. You will never convince me that those who so vociferously oppose the war and condemn everything the administration does in the war don't know that they are giving aid and comfort to the enemy. The problem is that even though they know they are helping the enemy they don't care enough to discipline themselves to stop. The apparently feel they are helping themselves and that's all that matters to them. I have nothing but contempt for them and it's my earnest prayer that they will live to be shamed by the path they've chosen.

Seventy percent of people surveyed said that criticism of the war by Democratic senators hurts troop morale Not only hurts troop morale, but encourages the enemy. I have not yet seen that mentioned by the MSM. A war is over when the enemy loses its will to fight. With the MSM on its side, the Islamofascists have strong incentive to continue fighting.

The friend of my enemy is my enemy.
The Rat senators have demonstrated over and over they are the friend of our enemies. Harry Reid gives them aid and comfort almost every day.

Since the rats are so smart and they have so many college professors in their ranks, they should get one of them to explain that: When the stimulus is constant it disappears.
It means when rats cry non stop people tune them out.

A war is over when the enemy loses its will to fight. With the MSM on its side, the Islamofascists have strong incentive to continue fighting. Worth repeating! A war is over when the enemy loses its will to fight. With the MSM [and the Democrat party] on its side, the Islamofascists have strong incentive to continue fighting.

We have over a million men and women serving in our armed forces. They all have family, friends, loved ones. All
those folks have families, friends, loved ones. All those connections spreading out like ripples in a pool. Millions and millions of people.
The Dems forget that and disrespect it at their peril.

In California we are surrounded by anti America/anti war/anti military left wing pos's, who claim they are being patriotic by hating GW, the war in Iraq and the WOT. It is beyond tiring.

Lets hope this is true. Hopefully the great middle of America has awakent to the seditious and vile left wing anti America whining.

This tracks nicely with the last Pew poll. I have been saying that we have fewer sheeple than ever before.
You cannot fool people about anything they have directly experienced. People know the economy is good because they are paying their bills and have money left for discretionary spending. People know we are winning because the troops are emailing home and the home folks are passing those emails on.
The print media has been complaining about demographics for years and the bottom line supports their fears. FNC, for all its recent attempts to move left of center, is still beating out all the cable news outlets.
And then, there is that gosh-darned Internet! ;)

My theory all along has been that unhappiness about the war is more from the right than the left. They want us to succeed, but more quickly than what we are doing. Moreover, they want us to be more aggressive responding to Iran and Syria helping the terrorists.

It's not just the morale of the troops. I think their morale remains relatively high--mostly they're just annoyed at the false reporting.
It's more Syria and Iran, etc. One reason those countries feel free to provide bombs and bomb making materials to the suicide bombers is that the press and the dems make them feel secure that the U.S. will not take action against them.
