Hardball Meltdown: Chris Matthews Unhinged on Talk Radio
Sierra Times ^ | 11/25/2005 | Jim Kouri, CPP

Posted on 11/26/2005 1:18:57 PM PST by FerdieMurphy

MSNBC's talk show host Chris Matthews is a man who obviously: (1) Believes he is the smartest man on television; (2) Enjoys bullying women such as Michelle Malkin; (3) Enjoys bullying senior citizens who may not be as quick with the mouth as he is; (4) Is irrelevent except for a few of his fellow moonbats who actually believe he's a mental giant; (5) Is of the opinion that he's really competition for Fox News Channel's lineup.

During a speech he gave in Canada at the University of Toronto, Matthews did what most American liberals do when in a foreign country -- he denigrated his own country. During his usual bloviating Matthews in quoted as saying, "America's enemy in the war on terror is not evil -- they just have a different perspective."

As a result of Chris Matthews pseudo-intellectual speech, radio talk show host Bob Newman invited him to appear on KOA's "The Gunny Bob Show," aired in Denver. Bob is a decorated Marine, a syndicated columnist and Men's News Daily contributor who specializes in terrorism and counterinsurgency. Matthews agreed to appear on Newman's show. Many listeners may argue it wasn't an appearance as much as it was a total meltdown of a man who got caught displaying anti-American tendencies on a radio show with bigger ratings than Hardball.

Bob Newman was interested in pursuing the meaning of Matthews' statements in Toronto. According to the Gunny, he repeatedly asked Matthews if he thought terrorists are our enemy. Finally, after Matthews apparently realized that the Gunny wasn't going to allow him to dodge the question, Matthews replied that terrorists are "a sub-set of our enemy," to which Gunny Bob asked what that meant. Matthews flew into a rage and it went downhill from there.

When the Gunny told Matthews that he wasn't buying his bizarre, convoluted explanation of his controversial speech, Matthews started screaming about how awful the Bush administration is and then totally lost it by hanging up on the Gunny with considerable gusto and fury.

Matthews displayed the usual behavior lefties utilize when they feel cornered like rats: start spouting anti-Bush rhetoric and play to the cheap seats where you'll find the left-wing moonbats sitting and cheering. But the hang up in the middle of an interview shows Matthews can give it but can't take it.

"I knew the guy was a hot head with serious discipline problems, but when he came out of the gate swinging and kept dodging questions and offering incomprehensible answers and obvious diversions, I knew I had a live one on the line. I was, however, quite surprised that he felt so humiliated on my show that he decided that hanging up was his best option. I expected more professional behavior from Chris, frankly," the Gunny said.

"The rage Chris demonstrated at me because I had the temerity to challenge not only his controversial speech but his explanation of that speech, as well as his belief that terrorists are a 'sub-set' of America's enemies, was alarming. What kind of journalist conducts himself like that? Especially on a show that has more listeners than he has viewers. "He blasted into the interview at full bore and went straight for my throat. He quickly realized that sort of tactic wasn't going to work on me. He didn't do his background work to find out who I am and what I used to do for a living. That apparently panicked him and he went ape when I pressed on and on with questions he didn't want to answer on the air."

I really liked Zell Miller's speech during the Republican National Convention, but I fell in love with him when he said he wished he could challenge Matthews to a duel. Poor doofus Matthews didn't know what to do with that. What a loser.

"It would not surprise me if he goes off the deep end at some point."

Wasn't that point about 2 years ago?

Matthews came across as completely incoherent.

Maybe his malaria is acting up?

I felt sorry for Matthews, once. He went on pMSnbc's Phil Donahue show to promote some book. Phil kept trying to
put words in Matthews' mouth.

I agree its "just a different perspective" and one I pray to God I never understand. I just want to see enough of them killed that they tremble at night and weep for their children each time they even think of considering the idea of contemplating such a deed again.

I don't give a rats a$$ if they understand us or like us or anything else. Just that they have a deep enough respect and realize that this will cause them and all their kinsmen to perish.

Sadly our leadership is more interested in making friends with them. Even our current leadership I fear.

I read he's called Tweety because of the canary yellow dye he uses to touch up his graying hair.

You know, I bet that half the people watching Chris Matthews are/is "us" ... yes, "us" ... you and me. Frankly, I love to watch him. The man is absolutely MAD ... he is incoherent and the more he talks and cuts people off from normal thought patterns, the more entertaining is his show. (I rarely laugh out loud when watching TV ... but it happens often with poor Chris). I doubt seriously that those 500,000 viewers watch him because they understand his nuances and believe in his "creative" thinking! Betcha' half of them watch him for about the same reasons people stop at the monkey cage at the zoo, they are entertaining. Chris is right up there with that sort of entertainment. Thank you Chris for the laughter you bring to my heart and half the folks watching your show.

I heard the Prager interview, it was great.

Missed Gunny Bob, but Bob is tougher on people than Dennis, so I'm sure it was priceless.

I sent Tweety an email about his statement that Terrorists should be treated as Golda Mier did "after the killings at the Olympics", that is, hunted down and killed. In other words, the Kerry style "treat them as criminals" idea.

I tried to explain that "after the killings" is too damn late, but he probably didn't get that either.

[Chris Matthews is] of the opinion that he's really competition for Fox News Channel's lineup.

That really is pretty friggin' hilarious. Fox News wipes the floor with him every single night.

Sometimes people in public who are a-holes can be decent in private. Not Chrissy. He sounds like he's an a-hole all the time.

His poor wife. You can tell a lot about how someone treats people in general by the way they treat a waiter/waitress.

OK. I dig. If this blogger, a woman, had interfered with Chrissy's bullying tirade, she might have been in physical danger as well.

Matthews - a real man.

"anybody have a transcript of that?"

I looked on the KOA site, but couldn't turn one up.

Maybe if Bob is around and sees this, he will give us all a chance to hear/read the whole deal.

With any luck, the Canary/Twerp/whatever will find a job where he can exercise his real talents..........doorman in a two-bit bar would be about right, except he might have to back up his big mouth once too often and bust up some furniture with his face.

.........actually, though, the thought of Chris taking on GunnyBob is the best laugh I've had in years, even if I did spit coffee all over my keyboard when I first read this thread.

I've noticed that the most vocal leftists are bullies who like to pick on people who won't fight back. Bob (the john) beckel is my favorite example of a leftist bully who needs his ass kicked. Years ago on "Crossfire", he tried to physically and verbally bully Lynne Cheney. He leaned over in her face and made what I would call physically threatening remarks. Mrs. Cheney stood up to him and he deflated like the bloated pig he is. It's disgraceful the FoxNews has him back on the air.

"I knew the guy was a hot head with serious discipline problems, but when he came out of the gate swinging and kept dodging questions and offering incomprehensible answers and obvious diversions..."

Chris Matthews' bizarre reaction is symptomatic of fixed ideation by systematic cultish orientation. It's obvious his political ideology is as rigid as cement but cracks from the weight of logic and truth. In "meltdown" mode, he reflexively regurgitates Democrat partylines and hate-speech. I suspect Chris Matthews has been through brainwashing cycles and hypnopaedia. Chris requires emergency injections of Socrates, Plato, Aristotle for logical discourse and of the Holy Bible for spiritual renewal. Otherwise, I see a straight-jacket in his future.

Hoping the radio audience was much larger and more representative of rational Canadians than that of the University of Toronto.

As I've said before, American "liberal" anti-Americans are not only mentally unstable, they are our worst enemy and the most difficult to fight.

Dennis Prager beat the hell out of him last week, too. Matthews came across as completely incoherent."

Matthews is always completely incoherent...and manic. I can't understand why he endures on TV. At least he has made enough money to be able to afford an elite private mental hospital in which to retire where he can play hopscotch with fellow inpatient Howard Dean for recreation.
