It's always difficult to counter the simplistic bumper-sticker logic of the anti-war left precisely because of its simplicity. Nonetheless, I've been trying to think of an easy-to-understand bumper-sticker length mantra that supporters of victory can adopt, and I think John Murtha may have inadvertantly given us one:
"403 to 3!"
I may be misperceiving the general mood of the country, but ever since the Murtha/House showdown, I'm sensing a renewed interest in victory and a renewed sense of appreciation for how much has been accomplished in Iraq. At the very least, that House vote seems to have taken the wind of a lot of anti-war sails.
This little message says it all: we're not leaving anytime soon, any crackpot anti-war activist who thinks so is only succeeding in marginalizing him or herself further out into the fringe, and no matter what their heroes in Congress say about President Bush and Iraq, they apparently don't mean it.
We have liberated 25 million people from one of the most evil regimes in recent history and we have helped create a democracy in a region and for a people that have never known it. The United States has once again sacrificed blood and treasure to make the world more free and more safe. We have a lot to proud of, a lot to be thankful for, and it's time for the skeptics and fence-sitters to get firmly behind victory.
I hope this catches on. I'm obviously no artist, but here's a bumper sticker to get us started:
That would look beautiful on my car. Great idea!
Thanks!
I've already been on the phone with my graphics artist friend, and he has agreed to give it his magic touch and see about arranging some print pricing through his connections.

Make one for sale there?
bttt
I love it !
Thanks Chad, that looks terrific.
I have a graphics artist friend who is going to basically start from scratch and work his magic on it (this guy is REALLY good); but if you also have that sort of talent, feel free to give it a whack and maybe you can come up with something better for the real bumper sticker.
A few more points I always add, but I'm not sure how to "sloganise" is:
1) Victory is past tense.
Liberals use the word as if it has not already happened. When ever you catch a liberal useing the word in a future context, STOP them, and remind them that the American Military has delivered 2 victorys, 1 in Afghanistan and 1 victory in Iraq.
2)
"If you want to know if there are rats in the basement (Congress), open the cellar door fast, the light streams in and the rats will run around in confusion, looking for their holes." (paraphrased from CS Lewis). When the RATs in Congress voted 403 to 3, they were outed as cowards and blowhards. It was hilarious!
Ping me if anyone here gets these manufactured!!!!
Thanks!
Bob Dole did exactly the same maneuver in the Senate during the Viet Nam war. He was called a genius for it but that war didn't end too well. This is nothing new and the Democrats are used to it.
Where do I get one???????????
Nice
