FReep 31 of Code Pink at Walter Reed, Nov 18 (Heavy graphics, Join us Nov 25!)
DC Chapter ^ | Nov. 24, 2005 | BillF with tgslTakoma, bmwcyle, and PleaDeal photos

Edited on 11/24/2005 9:11:45 AM PST by Lead Moderator. [history]

On Nov 18 we had a great turnout of FReepers from the DC Chapter and beyond. It was a cool (wind chill 33 to 35 degrees), but relatively nice, evening.  This was FReep #31 as FReepers have countered Code Pinkos at their weekly obscene anti-war blood dance outside Walter Reed Army Medical Center as their have for over 7 months.  We had a great evening as the bus of wounded troops came back early from Fran O'Brien's, catching the leftists in disarray, as they were packing up. Also, we had a very nice visit from a police officer at the end of our night.

Code Pink is truly stuck in a quagmire as FReepers severely hinder the Pinkos' cynical attempts to manipulate severely wounded soldiers and relatives in hopes of finding those who will join the anti-war movement and break faith with the troops still fighting a ruthless enemy. Please help us by showing up next Friday night per details below.  Stand up against the Pinkos who've endorsed "the Iraqi resistance" (as they call our enemy, see here and here), given money to the other side in Fallujah, and called our troops "killers." Then, the Pinkos demonstrate at the hospital and pretend that they support our troops.

Please join us this Friday, Nov 25, at 6:30 pm per details below. This is the day after Thanksgiving and many of our regulars will not be able to come. Please come and show that you are thankful for your freedom, and especially the troops who keep us free.

The troops, like police officers and fire fighters, are the true heroes of our society. Unlike movie stars or athletes, the heroes all go into harm's way for the safety or freedom of the rest of us. Please help us give the troops the thanks that they deserve.

To help people get there on time, without having to stop for dinner, we got pizza on site at the FReep.

The honor roll of those in attendance (lurkers are marked with an asterisk*): 2nd Class Citizen, Angelwood, Apple Blossom, Bill from MD*, Black Republican, bmwcyle and daughter, BufordP, Coop, Dustin10thMountain, Fraxinus, Iraqikurd, Joan from MD* and son Gavin*, Justanobody, kristinn, Landry Fan, PleaDeal, SonofTGSL, tgslTakoma, Tolerance Sucks Rocks, Tom the Redhunter, trooprally (two FReepers: Mr. & Mrs.),  and BillF. That's 25 of us and included several FReepers, such as Justanobody and Tom the Redhunter, who traveled the extra mile by coming from far away.

The event was so large that I can only present that part of the story that I saw. If you were there, please describe your own experiences at the FReep. Also, let me know if I publish your photo without your name or, worse, I mislabel you in a photo.

[CLICK ON A PHOTO TO OPEN A LARGER VERSION IN A NEW WINDOW if it has a border around it. If a photo doesn't have a border, it is not hyperlinked to a larger version.  Click on another photo and its larger version should open in the same window that the first enlarged photo did. Or you can simply close the window with the enlarged photo and click on another photo in the report to open a new window with an enlarged photo. Note that some of the wider photos may open in a window wider than your screen and you can use a horizontal scroll bar to see parts. Photos will be interspersed in the report.

Photos were taken by tgslTakoma (click here for her full outstanding collection of photos), bmwcyle (click here for his full outstanding collection of photos), PleaDeal (click here and go to November 19, 2005 entry for her full outstanding collection of photos on her great blog), and I.  The photographer can be determined from the name of the photo. You can see that on hyperlinked photos (i.e., borders at edge) by running your mouse over them. On other photos, right click on the photo and click properties. The key is this: photos of bmwcyle begin with "Dbmw," photos of tgslTakoma begin with "Dtgsl," photos of PleaDeal begin with "Dplea," and photos of mine begin with "DSCN."]

Opposed to our 25 patriots, the Pinkos managed to get, at most, only 19 America-hating traitors and their well-meaning, but incredibly-misguided, dupes. The dupes do not realize that their Pinko organizers, who claim to support our troops,  call our troops "killers,"  endorse "the Iraqi resistance" (those killing and wounding our troops, see here and here), and  have given money to "the other side" in Fallujah.

BufordP made some great signs, with text and graphics on both sides. The below photo shows him holding one of them.

The size of the signs will be appreciated from the photo on the left with Fraxinus and Landry Fan showing them holding two of the signs.

Leftists' claims that they oppose torture are rendered dubious by Perry's guitar playing and the associated singing

Crazy Backpack Guy has some of the funniest signs. His yawn
was, no doubt, in response to Gael Murphy's latest lecture.

Gael Murphy stands next to Crazy Backpack Guy with his sign
(read it in photo to left).  Murf, what happened to the non-political
"vigil?"

The sign of Crazy Backpack Guy, per above photos,  calling for us to go to a military recruiter is funny. The week before our participants included four who had served in Iraq, whereas every week numerous other FReepers have military backgrounds.

More importantly, Crazy Backpack Guy forgot the Pinko memo that their obscene blood dance and anti-war protest is actually a "a very discreet, dignified project" (quoting Pinko lies from their web site). We enjoy being attacked by this total whacko, who famously held a sign suggesting that the London subway bombings were a political trick of Bush or Blair right after those bombings. However, this new sign certainly shows that the Pinkos "very discreet, dignified project" is simply a cover story for their psych-op against war-wounded heroes, their families, and, now, supporters of the troops.

The logic is missing from the sign. Am I a hypocrite if I want a fire fighter to put out the fire at my neighbor's house, but don't want to personally fight the fire? Maybe I don't have the stamina, the strength, or the skill to fight the fire. Do I refrain from supporting and encouraging fire fighters to do their job if I'm not willing or able to do it? This "go see your recruiter" sign passes for logic from a guy who suggested that the London subway bombings were a political trick of Bush or Blair.

Here's hoping that Crazy brings that sign back for more showings, preferably along with the "Maimed for a Lie" sign that was held by protest leaders Kevin McCarron and Bruce Wolf. That "Maimed" sign was later attributed to infiltrators as Code Pink maimed the truth, but Gael Murphy has yet to ask those two "infiltrators" to remove themselves from the "vigil."

And speaking of signs, Bruce Wolfe should bring back the "Soldiers and Workers United" sign so that more people understand that he longs for the good old days when the Soviet Union and the Berlin Wall were still standing. Or he could just wear all-blue clothes as a proletarian uniform every week.

Chief DC Pinko Gael Murphy consoles another leftist, probably
telling him not to worry about the Dec.15 elections in Iraq because
her friends will try to do to the Iraqi voters what they did to that
wedding party in nearby Jordan

Wounded troops will really appreciate this "flag." NOT!

This Pinko forgot Gael Murphy's rules about no smoking at the
psych-op, er, vigil. Wonder if she realizes that Big Tobacco is
a big backer of President Bush and the GOP. Anyway, good for
this Pinko. We always say, "smoke'em if you've got'em" or maybe
it's "FReep'em if you've got'em." We got'em and we FReeped
'em.

Eric Squeegee Guy on right, but where's his Cheney mask?

Comrade Bruce Wolf at right, proletarian in blue, with Russian hat

Wounded troop bus back from Fran O'Brien's restaurant came
back early and caught the leftists with their signs down, but getting
ready to leave and assembled in a scrum.

The Pinkos used to hold their blood dance from 8 to 10 pm, but changed the time to 7 to 9 pm because they were getting flipped off in mass by wounded troops coming back in a bus from a  night on the town. The bus usually returns between about 9:20 and 9:45 pm, but returned at 9:05 pm on this night, catching the Pinkos in a scrum as shown at left.

We chanted "USA, USA" as the troops waved appreciatively just before the bus turned in the gate. However, the bus stopped near the gate and let out two of the war-wounded heroes.

One of them was a friend of ours, who came over to take photos and talk with us.

As we found out later, the other wounded soldier went over to the Pinkos. He told them, "Get the hell out of here right now, I've been admitted here [multiple] times." He said that he told them off and they scattered.

Leftist stopped at our secondary corner and talks with Apple
Blossom
.

Bill from MD with police car

One the leftists stopped at our secondary corner on his way and talked with several of the FReepers.

A short time later, a police car pulled up with its emergency lights on. My first thought was that the Pinkos had phoned in a false report on us again, as has happened several times before. However, this time it was just an friendly officer stopping by to see how things were going. He had a law student in his car for a ride along.  As FReepers chatted with the officer, another police car pulled up and also had at least one civilian riding along to see how the officer's night goes.

Let's help our wounded heroes maintain a positive attitude.  We absolutely must keep the pressure on Code Pink and keep showing the wounded troops at Walter Reed that Code Pink doesn't speak for the nation. If you live in the DC area and haven't yet come out for one of these FReeps, please do so this next Friday. Injured Walter Reed patients, including amputees, have repeatedly told us how important it is for us to be there to counter Code Pink.

If we can sufficiently outnumber the leftists often enough, embarrassment may cause the leftists to stop these outrageous morale-damaging ("Maimed for a lie" was one of their commonly-used signs) demonstrations at the hospital. At the very least, we can hinder their psychological warfare operation against the wounded troops. What about you? Can you spare a few hours on a Friday night?

Can you give up next Friday night at the movies to support troops who've given up limbs for your freedoms? Will you?

This FReep is rewarding, fun, and important for our troops and our nation.

Thanks for taking coffee etc. duty. I'll order the pizza, but wait until the FReep begins to get a better idea of how many we'll have.

Coop, a Marine and Desert Storm veteran, drives a great distance to attend and support our Troops,

Thank you for the kind words, but it's not that far (excluding *#&@&! traffic!). You, my friend, travel a much farther distance and do so more regularly than me! And I applaud you for it. [clap, clap, clap]

Since emotionally-castrated Buford is passing on a great time tormenting anti-American liberals to celebrate his wedding anniversary (pathetic, I know), I will proudly assume the "troublemaker" title for tomorrow. Unless Albion makes us all blush with her potty mouth, again. :-)

Coop, wish I had turned on my audio recorder for your comments last week. You could be a stand-up comic with lines like those.

Thanks for all you do.

Happy T-day to all FReepers!

Hey, people who purposely torment war-wounded heroes. That's a tough audience.
