Vanity - Seeking Opinions on Rush 24/7
November 23, 2005

Posted on 11/23/2005 7:33:50 PM PST by Tree of Liberty

I was wondering if anyone here at FR was a Rush 24/7 subscriber and what you thought of it. Fortunately, I'm able to listen to the regular OTA broadcast, but am most interested in the video feed and the upcoming video podcast.

Thanks in advance

It's well worthe the $7-8/mo. If nothing else, downloading his show gives me something to listen to when there's nothing on TV or I'm tired of music. I didn't buy it for research and I haven't ever looked at the "stack of stuff" so I can't comment, but It's worth it if you find him entertaining.

I listen OTA, a friend is a member and allowed me to go through his site to see if I would find anything of interest.
I love Rush's show, but I haven't been back to the site since.
I think it is great for those that can't listen to Rush live or just want to make Rush even more wealthy! :-)

When we moved we discovered that we could not get Rush on a local station, we actually live in an area with little radio reception and no TV reception. I was on over load from Rush withdrawal. So I attempted to listen to Rush via the dial up connection we were using. Unfortunately, the connections were also bad (19,000, 24,000). So we subscribed to 24/7. It is great, we could even listen via the dial up sometimes. So we bought a satellite for the web. Now I can listen any time I want. Never miss a show. It is GREAT.

Didn't there used to be an extra hour broadcast on the web or something, or do I have the wrong show in mind? I listen to Rush when I can, but I have never subscribed to any show's "premium website" etc. I hear them all hawking something special for subscribers and it never sounds worth it to me.

It's probably not as valuable to someone who can listen regulary, but if you can't, the archived shows and podcasts are very convenient. Watching him on the dittocam is a bonus but, by itself isn't worth the cost. The total package, for me, is well worth it, but I find that I don't use the dittocam feature that often.

The fourth hour, while rare, is great.

I can't say everyone will feel the same, but it's some of the best money I've ever spent.

I turn it on and listen as I go to bed at night. No commercials, and it's better than Fox repeats.

Been a member for 3-4 years now and I love it. Christmas last year I jumped for a membership for my younger brother, and he loves it. Money well spent

Hopefully, you are inquiring due to "adopt a soldier" program.
Rush is a true patriot, a great entertainer and a human being with faults and foibles like all of us....
the one thing that he kicked which we Ditto heads can not
is the "addiction"!

If you travel a lot, as I do, it's great. If you miss a few shows while on the road or in places where his radio show isn't carried, the next time you have an internet connection, you can download all those shows and listen to them at your convenience: no internet connection needed for listening after you've downloaded them. I've been a 24/7 member for about five years, and think it's good value for the money.

The humor in the Limbaugh Letter can be very hilarious at times, but I didn't think the membership was really worth it as I do have a radio. I didn't re-up when it expired.

http://wlsam.com/ streams it in mp3 or lightweight windows media every day. Out of Chicago.

For me, it's a goldmine. While I am allowed to listen to the radio at work - it's difficult when my boss is there. It's a small office we share and when he's on the phone - you can't hear the radio anyway - so I usually turn it off.

Because I have 24/7 I can go home and replay what I missed. I also like to replay on Saturdays some of the hot programs Rush did during the week. He has such great insight into what's going on .. you sometimes miss some of it the first time you hear it.

Now, I'm wanting an MP3 - because then I could download the day's show and take it with me around the house or to the laundry room.

I also use the replays - when there are guest hosts which I don't particularly care for.

I get 2 years at a time - which makes it even cheaper.

Worth it.

Downloading the MP3 show files without commercials is reason enough...each "hour" winds up being about 36 to 37 minutes.

I'm a 24/7 member and I have no regrets. I have his MP3 files downloaded to my PC everyday and at the end of each month I burn a CD or CD's of the past Month's shows and send several copies to our troops in Iraq. They love Rush and justifiably so. Rush is a great supporter of our troops behind the scenes.

In 2003 when our troops were facing their first 140 Degree summer in Iraq, many Americans were sending Air Conditioners to Iraq, The Air Lines decided that shipping AC units with Pressurized with Freon was a safety hazard and therefore canceled the delivery of donated AC units to Iraq, Rush Limbaugh stepped up and paid for the AC units to be delivered to Iraq via FED EX

We have 24/7 and love it. We also receive his podcast and love it as well. Its great for my husband, because he can't listen to him during the day, so he listens to the podcast in the evenings and burns each months shows to cd.

I do use his stack of stuff for information to keep. He also has pictues of Club Gitmo which are fantanstic.

Last night we 'adoped a soldier'. That is really neat. Go on and read some of the letters on the 'adopt a soldier'. Also on his site two short movies/music that one of his soldiers sent to him, its will bring tears to your eyes. Its from Sgt. Clay.

I really think you would enjoy his site, and use the podcast.
