Iran president confirms retaliation if sent to UN

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran's president on Tuesday confirmed his government would start enriching uranium and end U.N. snap inspections of nuclear facilities if its case were referred to the U.N. Security Council.

Iranian lawmakers on Sunday overwhelmingly voted these retaliatory measures into law, attempting to give the Islamic Republic some leverage before a board of governors meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Thursday.

"We follow the parliament and will definitely implement its bills," President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told state television.

Iran risks referral to the Security Council for possible sanctions after failing to convince the world its atomic scientists are working on power stations rather than warheads.

However, EU diplomats have said they are not going to push for Iran to be referred to the world body at this week's IAEA meeting.

They want to give more time to a proposal that Iran conduct its most sensitive atomic work, uranium enrichment, in Russia.

Iranian officials have consistently insisted Iran has a right to a full fuel cycle and must be allowed to enrich uranium.

Ahmadinejad said Iran would stand by its rights but made no specific mention of the Russian plan.

"Should we step back from our independence, freedom and territorial integrity? We should not," he said.

Ahmadinejad is going to declare war on the UN? He better be careful, they may admonish him in response.

They've already threatened to tell his mother on him.

What?

Iran slapped the UN with the proverbial 'glove'!

They will rue the day they messed with a bureaucracy!!
Iran better be quick to side step any resolutions that might come their way! The UN will bury them (in paperwork).

Figure 1000 miles each way straight line. Cruise at 550-600mph. Enter Iran at 740mph. Attack at 300-400 mph (relative due to turning/banking/lining up for runs), exfiltrate at 1200mph, fly home at 550mph.

Say 4-6 hour mission round trip. But that's just an intial SWAG.

They funny, or really sad part, is we are all watching history play out right now. Have you ever wondered what it was like reading the headlines of Nazi Germany rearming and making deals with Russia and Japan? Asking how the europeans and the world let this happen.

Well you don't have to wonder because the next chapter of history is being written out before us with Iran, Syria, and China.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they're already doing just that in a secret facility unknown to the inspectors. The day Iran tests a thermonuclear bomb is closer than the World thinks.

I hope Strategic Command is taking notes. Have the B-2s ready to strike Iran's nuclear facilities pre-emptively.

Question:

If Iran hits the EU with nukes, is it Bush's fault?
