CAREFUL. This story has already been pulled at least once today.

New York's rebirth could serve as an example to many cities. Put criminals in jail, and leave law-abiding people alone. Seems to work.

I live a stone's throw from where the new Cowboys Stadium will stand, and I think it's pitiful that Dallas didn't work with Jones to put the Cowboys back in Fair Park. Roads and parking are already there, and what an opportunity to clean up that part of the city!

Now, with Texas/OU ready to pull out of Dallas, they're talking about spending a fortune to renovate the decrepit Cotton Bowl for a couple of games a year.

Stupid.

Is Nashville Tenn. a large minority city? I never really thought of it as one.

I lived in El paso for 17 years, moving to Charlotte in 2001. Property crimes are very high in El Paso, but murders, shootings, and home invasions are an epedemic in Charlotte. P>S> many of the victims here are Hispanic; lot's of black on brown crime.

LOL. My Marine kept telling me that he was safer in Afghanistan than I was in Memphis last year.

Where are you located? I'm about 3 blocks from the Whole Foods on Greenville Ave, and about 3 blocks from where the DPD officer was shot and killed the week before last.

Dallas sucks. I was raised there. The city gov't. sucks and everything about it sucks. I moved to Tarrant Co. (Ft. Worth, etc.) as soon as I could drive. I still have to go to Dallas, but only when I HAVE to go to Dallas. It's a racist (by minorities) city, and I'd never recommend any business or family move there. It is as good as lost. The suburbs are filling up. I'm moving to the country as soon as I can. Socialism sucks, too, obviously.

Nashville and Columbus must have grown big enough as metro areas to develop dysfunctional ghettos within city limits that are a considerable percentage of the population, that neither city has effectively coped with, is my guess. I am surprised about Columbus.

Wow! I'm sure I'm not the only one who noticed the predominance of Wisconsin in the safest metro areas. Seven of the overall safest 15 metro areas are, according to this study, in mid-Wisconsin, in a pattern kinda-sorta-almost centered around Lake Winnebago. Makes a man (especially a man who wants his family to be safe) think.

As a first crude cut at it, it appears that Texan Hipanics are pretty law abiding.

So Fort Worth is safe and Dallas is dangerous? Should I build a house on the county line so I have a fighting chance?!
