President Reagan - one of the very few NOT a CFR or TC member, his cabinet was full of them though!
The Libertarian Forum ^ | 1984 | Howard S Katz

Posted on 11/21/2005 10:03:13 AM PST by Marxbites

History - nothing is more important than for Americans to understand the reasons and the players who have built the Federal Govt into the slush fund of the Elites that is now fully 3x it's late 1800's constitutional size.

The welfare/warfare statism they have achieved thus far, and each day becomes harder to reverse, will be our eventual undoing if Americans don't wise up, and quickley so.

Needed to add that the article is "Crisis 83: The Council on Foreign Relations & the Libertarian Party"

scroll down to page 4

Note: I am steering folks to this more for the history of big biz's corruption of our Govt.

Very informative and valuable for all fiscal conservatives.

Very possibly. I can't make heads or tails of it.

And if it thinks I'm clicking on a "libertarian forum" link...

Don't understand your reply?

BTW, I am a HUGE Reagan fan, hate the treasonous left, but as I further my own history & economics self education, I am beginning loose faith in the GOP's ability to carry on with Ronnie's visions.

BTW2, we can thank Reagan & Churchill's embrace of freedom and limited Govt to the fact they were each self taught as well, IE not becoming the parrots of their leftist college educators, they were REAL LIBERALS in the classical sense, just like our Founders.

Well, your intellectual dishonesty is showing.

You refuse to click on a link simply because it's a Libertarians website?

Pretty shallow, and will be your loss of great info found little elsewhere.

Well, loose faith is better than losing faith.

Is criticizing a typo your best contribution. or make you feel superior?

If you don't understand the post, don't bother reading it. It's a pdf file of a 20 year old article linked on Mises.org. Not much into the whole TC deal but it's a valid historical observation. Thanks for the post Marx, will give it a read a little later today

Most in this forum prefer to scream and cover their ears rather than click a link to anything that may upset their worldview.

The CFR is quite real.

http://cfr.org

They call themselves a "think tank."

Personally, I see them as a bunch of transnationalist scum.

Typos happen to everyone, but given that a spell-checker is available, it often connotes sloppy thinking. I had a high school English teacher from Hell who quoted from Strunk & White as some quote from the Bible. If she did nothing else, she drove home the point that people give more weight to ideas if those ideas are presented without rampant typos, misspellings, and grammatical and syntactical errors. Criticizing poorly written commentary isn't a question of putting on airs or acting with smug superiority. It's simply good-natured ribbing. I get plenty of that on this forum when I post on threads with the occasional spur-of-the-moment, half-baked notion.

You, kind sir, have hit the nail squarely.

While feigning helping the "poor", like Kerry they pay squat in taxes, but then insist middle Americans must sacrifice in higher taxes for the "common good", while their own wealth evades taxes in the Foundations that line their pockets and spew the propaganda that keeps them AND Govt fat off the little guy.

You will really gain from reading it.

My notions are anything but halfbaked, but I agree typos are off-putting.

BTW, Reagan himself was more libertarian than our currrent batch of GOP spendaholics.

They have had five years to really stick it to the Dems with ideas, but rather we get temper tantrums a la Senator Stevens when his pork gets criticized. I am ashamed.

The CFR is filled with cranky, old bedwetters who lead monthly cheerleading forums for the socialists at the United Nations.
