I post the full text of Murtha's possible alcohol enhanced histrionics so that it is possible to examine in the cold light of day what his hammy ranting actually contained. I also wanted to post this from this Isloamo source. Lest any think otherwise, any defeatest comment by anyone who can be construed as a US VIP will be highlighted througout the Arab world.

But Murtha voted against ending the war!

continued military action in Iraq is not in the best interest of the United States of America, the Iraqi people or the Persian Gulf Region BZZZZZZZZZZZZT!
I don't need to read any further than this. Murtha is dead wrong.

There already has been a planned draw-down after the next Iraqi election. Murtha makes a big noise now so he and the rest of his Rats nest can pretend they had something to do with the draw-down and collect needed campaign cash from thier buddies in MoveOn.org.

Nov 17: Murtha insists that we bring the troops home immediately (voted for it...)
Nov 18: Murtha votes against bringing the troops home immediately (...before he voted against it)

The US needs to send him as an Envoy to the terrorist camp to negotiate a peace treaty. When he finishes they may elect him as their leader. He must be in a drug induced stupor!

Why didn't Murtha pipe up during Viet Nam, which was 20 times more quagmire, 20 times less organized, 5 times longer, and 25 times more deadly in terms of lives lost?
Oh, yeah, he was buffing his resume, getting his ticket punched, piling up his pension, getting promoted.
Can't have principles, mouth off, or resign your commission when you've got to look out for number 1.
Now that he's drawing his pension, well, now, he can pipe up.

Murtha might be a war hero, but that doesn't make his views correct.

I won't read one word of what he writes until he backs it up with a vote. If he doesn't believe in it, why should any of us even listen to it?
To: robowombat
I would have had far more respect for Murtha if he had simply voted against the war back in 2002-03, as I would have.
Today, he comes across as nothing more than an unprincipled hack. He supported the war when the public supported it, and he's now opposed to it because public support for it has declined sharply.
BTW, I opposed this war from the beginning because I knew this was exactly where we would end up -- with a bunch of @ssholes in Washington chasing their own agenda regardless of how it impacts anyone else.

Benedict Arnold was a hero of the Revolutionary War & one of George Washington's favorites until he committed treason.Murtha's military service was honorable - his service as a Congressman has become treasonous.

Our military is suffering. The future of our country is at risk. We can not continue on the present course The propaganda value off these statements to the Islamofascists is immense. Murtha is clearly aiding and abetting the enemy. His so-called 'plan for redeployment' is an absolute joke.

The congressman might have earned a medal in the Viet Nam War but he only earns a white feather in this one.
