How To Lose a War
New York Post Online ^ | November 21, 2005 | Ralph Peters

Posted on 11/21/2005 1:53:14 AM PST by GiovannaNicoletta

QUIT. It's that simple. There are plenty of more complex ways to lose a war, but none as reliable as just giving up.

Increasingly, quitting looks like the new American Way of War. No matter how great your team, you can't win the game if you walk off the field at half-time. That's precisely what the Democratic Party wants America to do in Iraq. Forget the fact that we've made remarkable progress under daunting conditions: The Dems are looking to throw the game just to embarrass the Bush administration.

The rats also need us to lose the war because in the ensuing chaos, they will finally have their chance to reshape America into their glorious Marxist utopian fantasy.

It's only through destruction and tragedy that they will finally have their opportunity.

That's one reason why they are fighting so hard for us to surrender to the Islamonazis.

Its like forfeiting a football game at half-time. Its ridiculous but we've come to expect the Cut and Run Party to keep coming up with dumb and dumberer ideas as times goes on.

Ralph Peters has no love for the Bush Administration's domestic policy screw-ups. But he gives it credit for fighting in Iraq - towards victory. The Dems on the other hand are the Party Of Retreat And Defeat; to rephrase Thomas More in Robert Bolt's play, A Man For All Seasons, "What doth it profit the Democrats that they should gain a few seats in Congress and lose the whole world?"

There's plenty I don't like about the Bush administration. Its domestic policies disgust me, and the Bushies got plenty wrong in Iraq. But at least they'll fight. The Dems are ready to betray our troops, our allies and our country's future security for a few House seats.

Rest assured if that comes to pass, we'll suffer more than 2,000 plus dead troops. And the victims won't all be conservatives.

"It's only through destruction and tragedy that they will finally have their opportunity."

Maybe not. You have heard it said, "Be careful what you ask for because you might get it." Throughout history, the perpetrators of revolutions have frequently not fared well. The most devastating thing which could happen would be that they would enjoy a short period of personal power and then be taken over by some other nation which would remove them from power and possible jail or execute them because of their leadership positions. Was it Machiavelli who declared that a nation which does not, for many years, experience the kind of war which demands that every man fight, has men who become much more effeminate and unable, then, to respond properly to threats, causing the destruction of that society. When we look at our military today, we are looking at the last vestiges of manhood in America and the last force around which is capable of safeguarding our freedom. I read somewhere that it is a lack of testosterone which makes men hateful and hard to get along with, just as a lack of estrogen causes women to act out those same problems, etc., etc. When you add drug and alcohol use, not to mention Prozac and the anti-depressants, the possible scenario is quite disturbing. (My sister was given Paxil and became as unfeeling and irresponsible as anyone you could ever know. She became totally self-absorbed.) We do not talk or study much about how drug use has altered our society at the higher levels. However, I would guess that it is quite profound. We know the entertainment community has a big problem with it..If we could really measure all that, I think we might have the answer to many of the behaviors which are devastating and perplexing to our nation. When we have done all we can do, we just need to relax..God is still in His Heaven...

'' And they won't all be conservatives.'' ........ And that's what I really don't get about the RATS. Don't they realize to cut and run from Iraq would be dangerous? I understand they are dying to get back into power and will do almost anything (tell lies about Bush) or whatever, to get it! But at the expense of what?! These RATS have families, people they care about so what could they be thinking? Are they stupid, naive or just plain dumb?!Cutting and running from Iraq, at this point in time, to make some kind of political statement, and get into power is suicidal and insane! Almost as insane as terrorists flying planes into buildings to make some kind of political point and get into power was!

This country is screwed if we run. And........ more importantly, this country will always be screwed. And that is because this is PATENTLY a conscious media made loss, and this ruthless, old, socialist media is going nowhere fast.

********

The old established/liberal/socialist media is America's most ruthless, relentless, and destructive enemy.

This has never been more true!

The increasing polarization in the USA (dems/repubs, libs/conserv brings about a clearer distinction of the underlying heart of the two factions. It becomes clearer that dems and liberals hate the USA and its way of life and would rather be like our arch enemy in all of his various manifestations/infestations. Of course I understand that the difference between the two sides is a continuum - but the pulling-apart of the philosophies is making tenuous the middle ground. This brings to mind the verse in Malachi 3:18 - "...Then you will again see how the upright man is different from the sinner, and the servant of God from him who is not."

"The Dems are looking to throw the game just to embarrass the Bush administration."If the dems spent as much time trying to get osama as they are spending trying to get pres. bush we wouldn't be at war now.Having oral sex in the oval office while our enemies gather to destroy us will be an embarrassment forever.

Just don't question their patriotism! < s>

I hate that mantra. It basically makes the person asking them the tough questions look like they're the ones being unreasonable. Why should we assume, by default, that someone is patriotic? Fifty years ago, it was a good bet. Now, its a 50/50 proposition, at best. When dealing with members of the "elite", its probably closer to 30/70. Unfortunately, we are now in a culture where patriotism needs to be proven not assumed. I think Robert Heinlein had the right idea--the right to vote should be earned, not given by default. In his universe, being a vet was the one way that anyone could earn the vote. That would solve a lot of problems IMHO.

Equally laughable is the mantra "but we support the troops". Yeah, they support the troops by trying to undercut the mission.
