Now we can ALL have a merry Christmas!...and Bracks is on the Left side of politics...

You just have to love the Australians! They know how to confront an issue head-on instead of tippy-toeing around that damned ACLU like we do. Maybe we should send them the ACLU; they'd take care of it.

This entire concept is daft. I remember talking to an Indian once and their concept of secularism is different -- they celebrate Christmas and other religions festivals by name. What's the problem with that? If my neighbor celebrates Yom Kippur and I celebrate Christmas, what's the problem? As long as we don't force the other, there's no real issue at all.

"Mr Bracks told the Herald Sun the Government would send a message to every primary and secondary school reminding them not to ban Christmas.
"All schools and kindergartens should be able to have nativity plays and Christian celebrations," Mr Bracks said.
"THOSE WHO DON'T WISH TO PARTICIPATE DON'T HAVE TO, and those who wish to celebrate in their own way can do so."
GOOD FOR THEM!!! (Yes, I'm yelling) About time someone got some good ole common sense about this silliness. Wish it would spread to America.

Those who don't wish to participate don't have to, and those who wish to celebrate in their own way can do so.And yet, this simple concept completely escapes most on the left.
