At least one Arab television media outlet reported that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the head of the al-Qaida in Iraq, was killed in Iraq on Sunday afternoon when eight terrorists blew themselves up in the in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul.
The unconfirmed report claimed that the explosions occurred after coalition forces surrounded the house in which al-Zarqawi was hiding.
WASHINGTON, Nov 20 (Reuters) - U.S. authorities are looking into whether al Qaeda in Iraq leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was killed in a gunfight in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, a U.S. official said on Sunday, but a White House spokesman said that was "highly unlikely."

I really don't want to be a pig about it, but...
after this latest debacle, I hope the Marine Corps has a hand in it.
Remember, this is Bush's fault. :)
If true, it's a damn good thing we didn't follow John Murthas advice.
There's an idea. Perhaps someone could post, upon confirmation...a link to the song, MY WAY.
As a proud Army mom...I'd be thrilled if the Marines got a piece of him...:)
I had the exact same thought. If it is true, I want a Marine to take full credit for the kill and announce that this is how the Marines take care of business, they do not murtha.
pingadingie.
Here's hoping.
The Dems would freak if some of our soldiers bad mouthed them.
Regrets, he had a few!
This will also push the Iraqi innocent civilian body count above the critical 200,000 mark
I hope there's another less pleasant, but no more less satisfying, thrill if we learn just before this Thanksgiving that Al Zarqawi ended up with the part-that-went-over-the-fence last, but didn't have time to eat it.

Just for the record, if it had been an Army issue, I'd root for the Army! I hope they all get a piece of him.
If the Corps didn't get him, maybe W will let Peter Pace make the announcement!?
Good advice, too.
:-)
They just can't let good news stand alone.
This could really get good!
Yea, the instant analysis ..."This could spell serious trouble for the stuggling Bush administration"
That guy has been dead a while now....despite reports to the contrary..........
Huh? "Despicable?" A parody on those office motivationals that shows a guy looking for a helicopter?
You prove the adage that there is always one guy trolling and itching for an argument--on anything.
