I had an argument with a leftist this past week. He said that there was absolutely no evidence of an Al Qaida-Saddam link nor any evidence of WMD held by Saddam. I told him I could provide numerous sources proving that both did in fact exist.

So he says, "But don't cite anything from Fox News."

I say, "Why not?"

Reply, "They're terribly biased to the right and factually wrong. Anyone who listens to them is stupid."

Well, the sources I was gave to him where various government, including the 9/11 Commission, etc. Still I argued with him about Fox News.

Fox News simply allows BOTH sides to be aired. In fact, I and many here are getting a upset about how left leaning Fox is getting (just turn on Fox & Friends right, now).

It's so amusing to see the leftists go nuts because a MSM entity decides to not tow the complete DNC party line.

You would think that the Liberal Biased Tim Russert would have a Geriatric Doctor specializing in Alzheimer's Disease on instead of Immunity Specialists considering that Congressman Murtha's behavior recently smacks of symptoms of this Disease. I would question anything the fellow says anymore, and I believe the ethics Problems are more of a reason why he and the Dems are going way overboard with his so called heroic background. They figure they can kill two birds with one stone. He can trash the War,President Bush, and our Military, and be protected from the brewing Scandal by hiding behind his Military Background. It is obvious that the Dems had this plan brewing for a bit, and he was given his Marching orders by Nancy Lugosi. His brain is not quite up to it, and he sounded silly and confused, repetitious, rambling, and sickeningly egotistical. Braggadocio about all his medals was like John Kerry's entire campaign redux.

Though not mentioned in name I would include Murtha in the comments made by the VP at Frontiers of Freedom Institute Gala last week.

""
Some of the most irresponsible comments have, of course, come from politicians who actually voted in favor of authorizing the use of force against Saddam Hussein. These are elected officials who had access to the intelligence, and were free to draw their own conclusions. They arrived at the same judgment about Iraq’s capabilities and intentions that -- made by this Administration and by the previous administration. There was broad-based, bipartisan agreement that Saddam Hussein was a threat, that he had violated U.N. Security Council Resolutions, and that, in a post-9/11 world, we could not afford to take the word of a dictator who had a history of weapons of mass destruction programs, who had excluded weapons inspectors, who had defied the demands of the international community, whose nation had been designated an official state sponsor of terror, and who had committed mass murder. Those are the facts. (Applause.)

What we’re hearing now is some politicians contradicting their own statements and making a play for political advantage in the middle of a war. The saddest part is that our people in uniform have been subjected to these cynical and pernicious falsehoods day in and day out. American soldiers and Marines are out there every day in dangerous conditions and desert temperatures –- conducting raids, training Iraqi forces, countering attacks, seizing weapons, and capturing killers –- and back home a few opportunists are suggesting they were sent into battle for a lie.

The President and I cannot prevent certain politicians from losing their memory, or their backbone -– but we’re not going to sit by and let them rewrite history. (Applause.) "

RIght anita.
IT also pointed out a few other things in the run-up to the vote. the decision on whether or not to have the vote was the real story here. We only won by a few votes and had 5 rinos defect(looked like one of them changed his vote it was 6).
We have a very slender margin in the house and it's even worse in the Senate. We have to get out and get more voters to see the light.

Interesting how only three socialists/commies in the house had the guts to vote down freedom for Iraq.

"What a scumbag Russert is."

So true. I think Hannity still kisses his rear though. Makes me sick. Russert is so transparent anymore. I guarantee the message will be how Murtha is the greatest human being ever to be a public servant, and all Republicans are mean-spirited.

True, Alas. I had to check twice to be sure I wasn't listening to CNN. One amusing moment came during the spot about people in a turkey calling contest. Julian Phillips said he wouldn't make a fool of himself in public. LOL. He really said that.

John Murtha has been critical of the war for over two years, his comments last week were not the hot news the MSM was trying to paint them as. I truly believe Murtha was pushed to make those comments by Pelosi and Steney Hoyer because of his military background and interests, those cowards simply wanted to use him as a shield against Repub counterattacks. The dems' disgraceful plan was crushed by the vote in the House last Friday, a truly masterful stroke by Hastert and the Repub leadership, my hats off to them.

That would be funny to see. Williams would get his lunch handed to him.

I think Rummy being on everywhere today is part of the White House fighting back on the issue of support for Iraq, which is about time we had more of that. I was thinking last Friday evening that Rummy has not been on as much as needed.

Good Sunday morning FReeper FRiends.

Murtha just said (paraphrasing) that there has been no progress in Iraq - he was there and talked w Capts that said 'what they were supposed to say'. When he was there, no body armor, etc., etc. - didn't hear where he went and/or how long ago he went. Has he been to the 15 out of the 18 provinces where life is essentially good, schools have been/are being built, hospitals are better than they've ever been, etc. I've heard, for example, in the Kurdish area, they even have a Wendy's franchise open.

As Chris Wallace asks Rummy the media talking points, all premised as Promises of reductions by dates.

Murtha is then trotted out as the "decorated vetern". Rummy says that there are difference in views during wartime. As always, Rummy sounds sensible and the issues a great Churchill quote. "The problem is not winning the war; the problem is getting people to let you win the war.
