Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005 10:54 a.m. EST Nancy Pelosi: Pro-Troop Vote 'a Disgrace'

Anti-war House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is blasting last night's 403 to 3 House vote in support of U.S. troops and their mission in Iraq, calling it "a disgrace."

Complaining that House Republicans had engaged in a "deception" by calling for a last minute vote on the Iraq war, the San Francisco Democrat said the pro-troop resolution was "a disservice to our country."

Pelosi said that the "Republican majority has stooped to a new low" by forcing Democrats to go on the record against an immediate pullout.

Her California colleague, House Armed Services Committee chairman, Rep. Duncan Hunter, wrote the resolution, which asked whether members thought "that the deployment of United States forces in Iraq be terminated immediately."

"We're going to let every member answer that, and I hope the message that goes back to our troops in Iraq is that we do not support a precipitous pullout," Hunter said.

Pelosi slammed Hunter's proposal as "a political stunt and should it be rejected by this House" - minutes before she voted with the Republican majority.

It's all about the will of the people. These idiots believe in a USA loss and a Zarqawi victory only up to where it might affect their own re-elections!!! Talk about having no principles! At least they do know they won't be re-elected for their actual beliefs.

Pelosi voted against it - she didn't side with the three. If the article is correct, she's denouncing a resolution she voted for.

In other words, Nancy Pelosi thinks "it is a disgrace" that the Republicans exposed her as a demagogue.

Tom DeLay just annihilated the rats with brilliant perfectly targeted strategy as usual. The Hammer put a bullet right between the eyes of the democrats.

"Hey, Stretch Pelosi ... eat this!"

What's out of context? The article implies that Pelosi doesn't like being forced to vote to support the ongoing war and the troops. She is calling the vote to stay or go, a disgrace.

The democrat party is a greater threat to the future of this nation than al-queda will ever be. Pelosi proves it and so do the rest of them day in and day out.

My question to all liberals is: why do you continuously suppport liars and only liars as your politicians of choice? It's Bushes honesty from day one that had made you all the ravining lunatics we see today.

Neutrality, that last paragraph is not directed at you, only the first one was.

Sounds like the Senator's boxers are soiled again and chafing her. Call the Waaaambulance, have them change her - and suggest Depends this time. ;-)

Pelosi said that the "Republican majority has stooped to a new low" by forcing Democrats to go on the record against an immediate pullout.

Explain "forced."

You mean no one would re-elect you if you voted for the pullout?

If Nancy Pelosi felt the War's wrong, she should have instructed Democrats to vote FOR an immediate withdrawal. That would have been the principled and honorable thing to do. Instead, following her lead, the Democrats are ALL on record as supporting a war and a mission they hate. Now they need to sit down and shut up and stop complaining about manipulated intelligence and being misled. They have no right and the American people do NOT suffer fools gladly.

I mean John Murtha came out on the weekend for an immediate pull-out. The GOP called the Democrats' bluff. It blew up in their faces. Pelosi's post-vote whining is a good instance of the "be careful what you ask for, you just might get it" syndrome. So the Democrats didn't even want to vote for the position advocated by the No. 2 in their own leadership. What a profile in political courage. If the War was as unpopular as the Democrats and the MSM insist, this should have been an easy call. Now who's misleading the American people about who supports our troops? The American people can see very clearly with their own eyes Pelosi is a unprincipled hypocrite and demagogue to boot. Again, sit down and shut up.

Awwww, whatsa matter Nancy, did the Republicans pull one over on the RATS? Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Harry just do the same thing when he called the Senate into a closed door meeting?

Pelosi said that the "Republican majority has stooped to a new low" by forcing Democrats to go on the record against an immediate pullout.

IF the Republicans hit a "new low" they still haven't caught up with the lows the RAT Party has sunk to.

Yes, I get a lot of pleasure out of throwing the Democrats' own vote at back at 'em. At least they had the courage to oppose the Vietnam War. If the Iraq War is as bad as they say and we're losing, what's wrong with getting our troops out of harm's way? After hearing them bitch and whine and moan for the last two years, I thought they would be all for it. Turns out I was wrong. The Democrats do continue to surprise me with their political stupidity.

Exactly, only McKinney, Wexler and Serrano voted consist with the democrat rhetoric. Only they voted true to their words!

In other words, only 1.5 out of every 100 democrat congressmen actually mean what they say!

Pelosi, you and your fellow rats are the disgrace.

I had vowed not to donate to the Reblicans until I was convinced that Bush's nominees to the Supreme court are real conservatives. Now, I'll be forced to send an exception donation to the RNC with a letter stating the donation is in appreciation of the House Republicans finally growing a spine and calling out your treasonous behavior.

She spoke on the floor against it prior to the vote. In effect she urged for it to pass and then voted for it.

He opposition was based on all the work to be done to overcome the disaster she saw coming for her party.

She doesn't give a rat's ass (no pun intended) about the military.
