I would like to add my name to this list, as I was not asked to testify.
Two possibilities...Either New information has actually surfaced (which could cut either way politically), or Woodward has decided to take up the "point" and take another bite at the apple trying to get to Cheney.
btt
Woodward did not implicate Cheney in the investigation to the non-story of the non-agent.
Ok dumb question for the lurking media (Captian Obvious here)
Stick with me h...
If Corn & Pincus were the FIRST to write about an Xambassador who challenged Bush's claims...
And your BOGUS assumption that Bush & Co "outed" Plame in retribution... don't you think that 2 of the FIRST people they would go to is Corn/Pincus?
And why did Fitzgerald avoid interviewing/calling them to testify?
Too simple for ya'll to think of?
I don't see Washington Post writer Walter Pincus on the testified list nor do I see David Corn who was the first to actually name Valerie Plame in print.
So who is their target? IF they are trying to reopen the investigation.
OTOH, if they are naturally following this thing where it leads, it makes Fitzgerald appear less of a partisan.
I'm releaved to know that Rove has testified, and thus cannot be Woody's source according to this article.
I've had shades of "other shoe dropping" after Woody's testimony became public.
Things were looking better for Libby, but I was afraid Rove might be back on the hotseat. I'm glad he doesn't appear to be.
Never forget that it was Woodward who set up the plumbers by telling them Castro had given money to his favorite socialist party (Democrats).
"Why did Fitzgerald avoid interviewing/calling them to testify?"
Any DA when they want to frame innocents do this little trick all the time. They compartmentalize or as in this case refuse to call on the real culprits and witnesses.
Yes, and it sort of goes along with having the FBI interview Plame's neighbors for the first time 5 days before the indictment of Libby. Two years spent fooling with the pieces of the puzzle to get the desired result?
This story has become so convoluted, that MAYBE .001 of the American population can follow it (or care to)...if that many. I blame Fitzgerald for that. He has made a confusing mess of this whole thing. He should have decided a long time ago that there was nothing here...but no...he wants to keep his own name in the news for as long as possible. Now he's convened a new grand jury? Ridiculous waste of time and taxpayers money.
Good points.
Does anyone have the answer?
I agree.
At his fingertips: a biased heavily Democrat District of jurors, a biased left leaning judge, and a biased liberal press.
That's one more lump of coal for Fitz..
One less ornament on the Fitzmas tree FoR the left..
