We've had this idiot lauded here in Indiana, since he's an Indiana native. I guess I never knew why he was "one of the greatest living writers", but now I know. He's just a liberal leftist USA hater. That's why the MSM loves this jerk.

A book is crying out to be written on this subject, not just about KV, but about the whole phenomenon. It has to be heavily documented and clearly presented, with a title somethign like:
When Old Leftists Go Insane

Sounds like Mr. Vonnegut has some issues of self-loathing, doesn't it?
To: Leisler
Vonnegut is a great writer but he's also mentally ill. His opinions aren't worthy of a great deal of attention.

Vonnegut said it was "sweet and honourable" to die for what you believe in, and rejected the idea that terrorists were motivated by twisted religious beliefs. So I guess blowing up innocent men, women, and children really doesn't matter then, as long as you believe in it.
To: Leisler
Everyone reaches an age at which they need to shut up. Murtha and Vonnegut are past that point, so the media need to stop paying attention to them.

"They are dying for their own self-respect," he said. "It's a terrible thing to deprive someone of their self-respect. It's like your culture is nothing, your race is nothing, you're nothing."
What is it with liberals and this word "respect", Bill Clinton said all that mental Il of N. Korea wanted was respect.
So obviously the UN had a great program established called "Oil for rotten Food" in which the players around this world got a cut off Saddam's OIL, and Saddam rewarded the families of homicide bombers with a reported number of $25,000. Amazing all in the desire for "respect".

Prior to WW II US liberals supported and lauded fasists in Germany: Notably Joseph Kennedy and Charles Lindburg among others. It is the same with Vonnegut. He doesnt know whether is rectum is bored or punched, and has lived in the plots and sub plots of his own novels too long, to comprehend a self evident truth: The terrorists are fascists and need to be prevented from gaining power in any nation.

there's no doubt he was a great writer who now has senility issues. Even so, I find these comments -- presuming they were not taken out of context -- extraordinary.

It seems as though many "great writers" seem to border on insanity. It must be something in the brain of the artistist types.

When Old Leftists Go Insane
They're so freaking gone man...now all they can grab to is hope enemies crucify us for them thinking our PC discretion against muslim terror could thus be exploited ... mistaking forgiveness and life saving for their true hypocrisy... and then they can die "knowing" they never did the kill....while they in fact hid in the murderous darkness all along with evil plotting our deaths guarranteeing them a form of symbolic unpunishable murder of theirs, coz "undetectable" and "not done by themselves"...but fools, they're all too easy identified...their glorified Marxist pimps never protected nor could protect their identity from God, and thus never protected them from being nailed....and thus they have a choice now, either repent or admit and go full blown sectarian exposed murderous marxist....I'm not holding my breath.

No, I've never tried reading one of his books. I don't read fiction. I only read non-fiction stuff such as history, etc.

Actually during WWII. Joe Kennedy was the American Ambassador to London. The Nazis had already invaded France and were pondering the cross channel invasion. The Battle of Britain was on over English skies. Kennedy was talking to Nazis about them taking over England, said it would be better, and that everyone knew it. Got his sick, twisted arse thrown out. Media sat on it for decades.
