I read a Vonnegut book once. If I wrote stuff such as his, I think that suicide bombing would make sense to me as well.

Vonnegut attended Cornell University in the 1940s.

Cornell is, of course, located in Ithaca, the City of Evil.

Vonnegut's signature City of Evil anecdote is that he was manning the wire machines at the Daily Sun when the first reports of the attack on Pearl Harbor came across.

And who taught him?

Be careful, have the wife start the car. Don't go to anonymous meetings late at night alone. They have to be on to you by now.

Hey, what do you have against my wife?

Besides, I put an auto starter on the SUV years ago.

BTW, I like your signature line (Hey, Lefty, Freed Tibet Yet?). Someone should make that into a t-shirt.

"They are dying for their own self-respect," he said. "It's a terrible thing to deprive someone of their self-respect."

So Vonnegut believes that terrorists' "self-respect" is regained when they murder innocents/non-combatants? This is what happens when socialists go senile.

Ever try to read one of his gawdawful books? I tried a few times and couldn't get past the 10th page

I have to agree with you his books are not for me. He couldn't carry Ayn Rand's typewriter.

Sounds like Billy Pilgrim has become unstuck in time.

So it goes.

Gee Kurt, go ahead and take that "amazing high"! What an old fool. His writing is so disjointed you have to reread nearly every paragraph to find out what it has to do with the preceding one.

ONE of the greatest living US writers

Ha, senile old fool is more like it. He is a caricature of himself. 30 years ago he was witty. In decline ever since.
