Perhaps the smartest thing the RATS could do is claim that this vote is a trick and publicity stunt and they won't participate. That's fine. We have the majority and 218 is a quorum. We will show our troops, America, and the world that the GOP will not back down in the face of terrorists. If only Churchill or Reagan were still alive to give a stirring speech.

If the vote occurs at all, that would be evidence of a Republican spine on the Hill.
If they don't vote or vote no, that will be used against them for sure.
They who don't vote are showing they have no guts, which is as bad as voting no IMO.

I'm sure the GOP did a head count of their members still in town before they decided to do this. But a lot of West Coast liberals are already on the way home and won't be able to get back to vote on this. They probably scheduled the vote at 7:00 so some of their guys can jump on a plane and fly back to DC.
This is BRILLIANT strategery!! The Dems thought they had the weekend news cycle won with Murtha. They have no time to counteract this vote, which will now be THE topic of discussion all weekend! AND it will take place right whern Hardball is on the air, LOLOLOLOL.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi's office had no immediate comment.
She was too busy putting on her biometric suit so she would appear somewhat human when she came out to bitch in front of cameras later.

Sounds like the Republicans are beginning to water it down! Idiots!
Instead of being a vote on whether to pull out (aka. "surrender"), they are making it a vote over "encouraging the troops to stay the course."
Give me a break. :-(

THANK GOD WE FINALLY SHOW SOME BALLS!
America has never voted for defeat. Even with Vietnam Nixon won with the slogan "Peace with honor".
Let's grab those fakers by the throat and drag them into the house and ring a vote out of their necks and I bet very few will actually vote for defeat.
This is brilliant!

This DUmmie quote made me laugh:
Don't fall for their trap. It is an attempt to keep dems divided period.
Sorry, DUmmie. Too late.

"That's the whole point. State your intentions! Are you a Representative of the United States or a represenative of the enemy?" Nicely put. I'll bet the libs are crawling under their desks, hiding in fear.

Not voting will save them somewhat from the American public, but would get scorn from their far left DUers types.
Voting NO gets their DUers happy, but will get most of them unseated in 2006 & 2008.
So look for the far left to be pissed off with lots of non-votes.

The votes on this one will determine how patriots will vote in 2006 and perhaps 2008. We must urge our reps to vote against a pull-out and then castigate all RATs and RINOS who vote for it. The pull-out idea is identical to what the RATs did in making us back out of Viet Nam, just when we had it won, and we must hold their dirty, cowardly feet to the fire of our criticism and votes next election!

Will Murtha Pull A "Rangel" and vote against his own bill the way ole Charlie voted against the draft?
