You really are a piece of work churchillbuff. and you have the gall to give yourself a forum name in honor of a truly great man, Winston Churchill, who would likely find you to be an idiot. Go figure..!

I STRONGLY disagree with your opinion of Murtha's angry, Liberal loony tune....aka, "rant". The man does not deserve any decent American's respect and ought to be booted right out of office along with all of the other lying traitors who call themselves Americans.

Well, how about this Murpha, the democrats were in control when Hitler grew up into a monster and invaded Europe. And they did not declare war on him until Japan hit us in 1941.
It was democrats who sent loads of US troops into Vietnam, only to want to leave so that 1968 the Democratic convention almost became a war unto itself.
And many of them supported this war until they discovered that war is expensive and can take wierd turns and twists.
Seems to me the only thing that Democrats are good for is getting us into wars, then wanting to get out when the going gets tough and people begin to whine.Sounds to me like they are opposed to our national security and wish us to fail in any military endeavor.
We could just call them the Eunuch party, because they have no cajones to do what needs to be done in the global war on terror. Anyone who thinks the war on terror is going to go away if we simply leave Iraq has got to have his head in the ground like an ostrich, or up his old wazoo.

Here's one conservative that will not give Murtha the time of day. Let's not have a repeat of Vietnam. Let's arrest the SOBs and try them treason.

We are hearing the same crap we heard during the Vietnam War. We lost that war because we the people listened to the unending drumbeat of the left. Why are we putting up with it now? Screw them into the ground and do it with vim!

What makes Murtha a hawk? His unquestioned laudatory military service? Jimmy Carter served in the Navy; so did John Kerry.

Murtha sounded like a Frenchman! If he REALLY cared about the military, he would support their BOSS, The COMMANDER IN CHIEF to tell his fellow Demcrats to STFU and work for VICTORY NOT SURRENDER!!

If one thinks about it there is little reason to believe the war in Iraq is lost or is being lost.

I believe the war has been brought into the foreground from the background by the RATS because they are trying to cement their party together. After a period of pro and anti war factions, they are looking for a way to close ranks.

That the RATS use a war where Americans are dying is unconscionable;however, it is exactly what they did in Viet Nam. In their way of thinking, they are fearful of a 1972 blow out as a divided party.

There was a great article in the NYT by a number of Pubbies on answering Murtha. The reasoning was superb and should receive wide coverage.

Another thing driving this into the foreground of the MSM and the RATS is the 15Th of December: this is when a new government is installed in Iraq. Imagine, if things begin to quiet down after this! The RATS have opted to betray their own country and hope for a defeat to save their sorry behinds.

"I like guys who have never been there to criticize us who have been there. I like that. I like guys that have got five deferments and never been there and send people to war and then don't like to hear suggestions about what needs to be done."

Where was this democratic hypocrite when Clinton was president? Where is he on Hillary running? Where is he on Pelosi's arguments?

According to this hypocrite, the only ones who can speak out are those who have been there. Well, millions have served their country but not in combat (myself included). And I will not let the fact that I have not been in combat take away my right to speak. I served my country. Cheeney has served his country. Look at the record! Congressman, Sec of Defense, Vice President. It is absolute hypocrisy to deny Citizens their to speak because they were not in combat. Lincoln was not in combat. Roosevelt was not in combat. How dare this arrogant, peanut minded jerk!

Could care less if he was John Wayne. He is a democrat, as was Pat Tillman (who said "This war is so f&^&*ing illegal"). Borderline treason IMHO.

Murtha has been calling for an end to the freeing of Iraq for well over a year.

He can hardly be called a hawk on the war. Never was!

A MARINE that wants to surrender?

I thought I heard everything but this tops it all.

What the hell happens to people when they become Democrats? He is a Vietnam Vet, how can he want the same result in this WAR as the war he fought in? I am at a LOSS for words to explain my complete and utter amazement and disgust!!!

Whatever his history the only thing notably "crusty" about Murtha currently is the chafed skin under the collar Nancy Pelosi has fastened around his neck.

On the day the Justices announced the opinion, April 5, 1971.

The Washington Post

After Congress' repeal of the Gulf of Tonkin resolution and Nixon's statement of an imminent pullout from Vietnam, Senators were asking Nixon to set a date for the pullout. Senators Cooper of Kentucky and Church of Idaho said that any further military action in Vietnam would be illegal because Congress had removed the President's authority to make war in Vietnam. They said there was nothing left to do but leave.

Formerly unimpeachable, FBI Director Hoover had become the subject of heavy criticism from a variety of places. Civil libertarians and radicals, who had criticized Hoover for decades, were joined by mainstream Democrats and many Republicans in condemning Hoover's alleged abuse of power. Some Democrats were calling for his resignation.

NOTE THE DATE. DUMS NEVER CHANGE. WHERE ARE ALL OF THE VIETNAM VETS THAT COMPLAINED ABOUT THE VN WAR BEING RAN FROM WASHINGTON POLITICIANS.

I can take him seriously, but I worry clinton has some serious blackmail power over him. Clinton sided with the enemy yesterday in a verbal attack on America. He is obviously scared sh pretty bad about something. Could it be Able Danger?

Murtha rose through the ranks of the Marine Corps from private to colonel. He left college in 1952 to join the Marines and serve in the Korean War. He later attended Officer Candidate School and, after retiring to the part-time Marine Reserves and attending the University of Pittsburgh on the G.I. Bill, volunteered for service in Vietnam War and won a Bronze Star medal for valor. He retired from Marine Reserve as a colonel in 1990.

-went to Vietnam for a year at the age of 35(!)

With a life like that so dedicated to America, I believe he needs to be heard. He is the only Combat Vietnam Vet in the House, right?

Big points he made are that
- after 2 years, there are still 700 attacks a week.
- this is the first long war where we have had tax cuts, no draft and no mobilization.

So if we are winning why are the enemies attacks so high? Are they at 700 a week?
Our casualties are climbing thats for sure. For the first time coalition KIA hit 80 per month in 4 out of 6 months and this month we have lost 54 already. Are our tactics the best they could be?

-Why do we still send out troops room to room when we can level the block from the air?
-Why do we allow the terrorist sanctuary in Iran and Syria?
-Why are our troops fighting to prop up a regime that mandates Islam as the offical religion and that no law shall contradict Islam,
-and why do we support a Prime Minister who sides with his fellow Shiite Iran and says he will implement Sharia Law?

If the terrorist can fight without a Superpower's support, why can't the Iraqis win with a Superpower's support?

Maybe a timetable for pulling out will encourage the "good" Iraqis to turn up their effort. I mean, its not like Iraq is under martial law, or have a draft - why not? Don't they think the situation is grave enough.

Well maybe they should.
