Recently discovered Iraqi documents now being translated by U.S. intelligence analysts indicate that Saddam Hussein's government made extensive plans to hide Iraq's weapons of mass destruction before the U.S. invasion in March 2003 - and had deep ties to al Qaida before the 9/11 attacks.
The explosive evidence was discovered among "millions of pages of documents" unearthed by the Iraq Survey Group weapons search team, reports the Weekly Standard's Stephen Hayes.
In the magazine's Nov. 21 issue, Hayes reveals that the document cache now being examined contains "a thick stew of reports and findings from a variety of [Iraqi] intelligence agencies and military units."
Though the Pentagon has so far declined to make the bombshell papers public, Hayes managed to obtain a list of titles on the reports.

As long as it is only appearing in Newsmax (sorry they tend to jump the gun and be a bit inflamatory on this issue) and in the Weekly Standard, this will never gain traction.

The MSM doesn't want this story to be true, so this will the last we see of it.

Just a guess, but has W been laying low for several months intentionally and is now going on the offensive because he knew these docs would eventually be translated and released to the public? Who knows.

Sounds very promising but we sure need a lot more detail about what's in some of these documents.....
fwiw, if the following is true (if ANY documents relating to Iraqi training of terrorists were foolishly discarded) then this is an instance of absolutely STAGGERING incompetence// heads should roll if anyone on the US side was failing to carefully secure all possible evidence of Iraqi training of terrorists:
Hayes also notes that an additional treasure trove of evidence on Saddam Hussein's support for al Qaida may be lost forever. "When David Kay ran the Iraq Survey Group searching for weapons of mass destruction, he instructed his team to ignore anything not directly related to the regime's WMD efforts," he reports. "As a consequence, documents describing the regime's training and financing of terrorists were labeled 'No Intelligence Value' and often discarded, according to two sources."

of course you know this will be totally discredited by the MSM because it's being reported by NewsMax and the Weekly Standard.Deservedly so in Newsmax's case. They're an embarrassment half the time. (Their old message forums were a great place, though!) Now, if in addition to the Weekly Standard, Fox and the Washington Times pick up on this, who knows . . . .

Can't wait to see the reaction from all, and I do mean ALL, who think we were "mislead
And now we have all these stupid republicans even backtracking on the WMDs. "we were wrong, blah blah blah...but...so was blah, blah, blah..."
No we weren't wrong! There have been a whole bunch of us who have always believed there were WMDs that were moved out during the long run up to the war. Why is that so dang hard to comprehend???

Remember the Russian MIGs we found buried in the sand?
Even if we were to find a WMD cache buried in the sand inside Iraq, it would be reported as suspicious in light of The President approval rating.

Any and every article from NewSchmuck, WingNutDaily, or Debka should have an *alert* in the opening title (even/esp. if they are taking published information from true reliable sources.) In the alternative they simply should be banned because of histoic unreliabilty or past tinfoil hat reporting.

Is the president waiting until he has all of his enemies publicly speaking about the lack of WMD so that he can put this in their faces? That sounds like a clever move."One does have to wonder why W has sat there and taken all of this abuse for so very, very long. Coupled with Rummy's presser where he shaded any agreement with the Rats about WMDs, we may be seeing a rope a dope of historic proportions...

She was arrested in Salt when she tried to seek refuge with the family of her sister's husband Nidal Arabiyat, a Zarqawi ally who was killed in clashes with U.S. forces in Iraq in 2003, a senior government official said. "She arrived and her behavior was suspicious so she was apprehended there," the official said. Arabiyat was an explosives expert who had been with Zarqawi in northern Iraq before the U.S.-led invasion. The Iraqi government did not control northern Iraq after the Persian Gulf War.

I really, really, really, really want that to be true.
It would be one of the funniest things I've ever witnessed.
President Bush carries himself as a country bumpkin, but he's definitely very very clever.
