ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. (AP) - A teenager charged with killing his mother by stabbing her 111 times waived his right to a preliminary hearing Tuesday.
Christopher Dankovich, 16, did not speak during his brief court appearance other than to acknowledge that he had agreed to waive the hearing. Judge Nancy Carniak did not set a date for arraignment, but it is expected to take place later this month.
Lawyers for both sides said they were negotiating a possible plea deal.

As long as the plea includes a slow turning cold cut slicer I'm okay with it.
Who writes these headlines? Makes it seem as though Mom died in court. How about:

What's your proposed headline? In this case, a necessary word was dropped...insert "is" beween "Death" and "in" :-)
One of the problems often seen here is that print headlines (which are made to fit specific column widths, etc.) are translated to a single line of an electronic medium so you don't truly get the original headline. It's not as easy a trade as it might sound.
Thanks to our clueless SCOTUS, this sweet "child" will live to a ripe old age. I'm sure that some time in the next 30 or 40 years, some psychologist will talk the prison board in Michigan into letting him go. It's open season on parents who dare to try to discipline their monster children these days.

Your headline isn't appropriate for the story. The teen was already charged, and that's not news. "Did you even read the story before you wrote that headline?" ;-)
The news is that "the teen that had previously been charged.....is now in court."
Harder than it looks, huh?
