Yah, bulls#!t.

It's at the lowpoint for R's, and Talent has been quiet.

He'll trounce her when things actually heat up. She couldn't even beat Blunt, who, frankly, was far too young and far too inexperienced to warrent the job of Governor.

I expect that Talent will pull it out, but that it will be close due to McCaskill's name I.D.

She certainly doesn't have any higher name ID then Jean Carnahan did, and she doesn't have the widow-sympathy thing either.

You are right that it'll probably be close, but I just can't see her winning.

I wonder why liberals in state government refer to her as Crazy Claire?

She is always running for elections.

She ran for auditor then for governor now for senator.

She said after she lost the race for governor she was going to run for re-election as auditor but then jumped on the dem bandwagon with the polls. She met Dean and Reid and was seeing stars.

That may be so, but I love the guy and I am proud he is my Governor.

Her husband is a republican who has been hauled up on charges for his poorly run nursing homes. She is going back to her rural roots by starting her campaign in her familie' rural home county in order to pull the rural vote away from the conservatives. Her base is the inner city/union/govt worker axis.

Talent needs to get on the ball right now.

The only poll that counts is the final poll. and since it is over a year away this is worthless speculation.

I would like to know who is paying Rassmussen for all these polls this far out from the election. Is there anyway to find out who commissioned all these polls and who is footing the bill?

This polling is getting beyond ridiculous and someone has to be footing the bill.

"The only poll that counts is the final poll."

Wrong. Polls affect fundraising, voter perceptions and morale.

If they get too bad for a candidate, they matter a great deal.

As someone correctly said, Talent needs to get on the ball.

Don't worry too much about this. Talent will pull it out. McCaskill was only successful in beating One-Term Bob Holden, as he was already damaged goods, and has had success in beating losers, but MO isn't going to be stupid enough to send a 'Rat to pad the Hillary/Kennedy numbers in the Senate.

2 points just won't be enough. Jim wins going away. The days of wide spread voter fraud are over.

How about for a change our elected congress people worry about performing their job according to the expectations of the majority who elected them? I am sick and tired of the constant re-election posturing of elected people.
If they do their job, fund raising and re-election should come easily, without the political commercials like 12 month polls.

Talent does need to get to work. And he better convince some of his GOP buddies in Congress to get to work also or they will lose their majority. If they allow the whiners to get back in control, heaven help us all!

My prediction is that 47% is the highest she'll ever have. It's not good in politics to peak a year before the election.

"McCaskill was only successful in beating One-Term Bob Holden"

Actually, she has won two statewide elections as state Auditor (1996 & 2000) by wide margins. She has also won elections as Jackson County DA, Jackson County Commissioner, and state Representative.

She may be a dingy lefty, but she's politically formidible.
