NEW YORK (Reuters) - Former U.S. President Bill Clinton is "The Most Influential Man in the World," according to Esquire magazine.
The magazine has designated him as "the most powerful agent of change in the world" despite his lack of electoral standing and the fact he was laid low by a heart attack ahead of last year's presidential election.
The magazine highlights Clinton's accomplishments in its December issue, which goes on newsstands on Thursday, profiling the world's "Best and Brightest" men and women.
Since leaving office, Clinton has been so active that his post-presidency amounts to "a third term" for the Democrat who held the White House from 1992 to 2000, the magazine said. He has tackled global issues from AIDS, poverty and global warming to the recovery from last December's Indian Ocean tsunami.
Esquire editor David Granger argued that Clinton was poised to become "something like a president of the world or at least a president of the world's non-governmental organizations."
But it will mean giving up a leadership role in the Democratic party or pushing the political career of his wife, Sen. Hillary Clinton, seen as a 2008 White House contender.
In the article, Clinton said that he remained loyal to his party, adding: "I'm not the leader of the opposition anymore."
LOL!!
If you have others, I'd love to see them!
If a picture is worth a thousand words, that one is the whole book on Clinton.
LOL!!
Lemme guess, the gal in that cartoon will soon be a docent at the Bill Klintoon Presidential Adult Book Store.
Oh that's a good one... ;-D
I think you're right.
Oh, wait...
Bill Clinton (center) visits Steve Irwin and wife at zoo in Australia.
LOL
This article is TOO funny. Nothing of importance was accomplished under his leadership not unless you count population control in Rwanda or support your local terrorist with his Bosnia policy or if you count his nuclear proliferation program where India, Pakistan and North Korea joined the club.
Sure changed Vince Foster's life and Web Hubble's, it'd take a long timd go list them all, the list is so long...the families of those killed by various terrorist acts here and around the world due to his inaction, then there's that prison blood scandal, and don't forget the Clinton death list, lots of people there...so many lives changed by the prince of lies.
Unfortunately what he 'influences' is not fit to discuss in mixed company or within the hearing of children under the age of 21.

I thought so too she was on a roll that night.
Oh, yeah? Why couldn't he prevent 9/11, capture bin Laden, stop North Korea from getting nukes, protect Africans from being slaughtered, or even stop "global warming"?
Guess he was too busy getting his parts serviced that he never had time to actually do anything for his country or the world.
If Clinton ever had talent, brains, charisma, power, or influence, he sure didn't use them for the betterment of the planet. What a total waste!
He's influential in that he did permanent damage to national security, upgrading China's military while degrading that of his own country.
The world is far more dangerours because Clinton was President. So perhaps he is the world's most influential man.
"Is this sign really up like that there?"
If it isn't.....IT SHOULD BE!
