I do apologize for that. I can see how you thought there was 100% profit (not 50%) built in. I would think something was fishy too, and it just sped right past me. For that, I do apologize. What impressed me was not that he could overcharge by a factor of 2:1 (!), but that he was confident enough in his work that the three guys all agreed that if I was unhappy with the work they would cut the price in half and lose money on the job. Kind of like saying, "I will do it for free if you don't like it." I used to say that to potential customers when I mowed lawns (age 11-16)....... on the FIRST time. Yeah, I would have been REAL suspicious of the idea that you can bid the job and cut it in half and still make money.
By the way, for what it is worth, I grew up building houses. My dad was a general contractor and I ran crews from the time I was about 16 till I finished college. I would still be doing it if the subs hadn't driven me crazy. That is part of my fondness for latinos. I could not keep sober, responsible subs on the job back in the mid 70s. Almost all the contractors I know here say the Mexicans have saved the construction industry from imploding.
At any rate, if we are going to go at it hammer and tongs, I at least want to be talking about the same thing, and we weren't and it was MY fault we weren't, so at least we can agree on that part.... It was my fault that we weren't communicating, and for that I apologize.

Sources? I find this a common charge on FR. Rather than simply say it ain't true (which I did earlier in a most UNgracious way... and asked the moderator to pull my post), I would like to see any stats out there. We can deal with the medicare/hospital stuff later, as I have quite a bit of info on that. I just want to see any data at all which suggests that a "high percentage" (I will consider anything over 14%) are on welfare. Just like you won't accept any stuff from me like "I know lots of Mexicans who are hard workers and they are good people," please refrain from stories about visiting the welfare offices in West Apopka FL, or Remlap Nevada. I am talking about stats that have some semblance of research behind them.

While President George W Bush is doing everything he can to Protect the American People, the ComuCrats are doing everything they can to Protect the Terrorists. Their stand makes you continue to understand which side they are on? The Party that sided with Russia, Pol Pot, Castro and Mao and every other tinpot Madman has suddenly decided that we have to protect the “rights” of Terrorists.
If we have a Terrorist who is suspected of wanting to kill Americans in the most hideous method possible then he gets what he gets. If they hang him by his thumbs to find out the plans of Al Queda, well too bad his head is still attached. If he gets to star is some perverted homemade photofest, well maybe he shouldn’t have become a Terrorist. The LibeRats want to give him all the rights that OJ Simpson had and more. They would require free legal advice as well as crushed ice for his Strawberry Lemonades.
Americans know that the Rats do not have our safety or America’s strength at heart. These power starved elitists are the enemy of America and have the same goals as the Terrorists. What is the future for minority kids in the ghetto w/o an education? It has been proved over and over again that the surest method of advancement in America is through education. Before LBJ the strength of the Black community was it’s strong extended family culture that maintained itself both economically and spiritually. To have the so-called friends who show their hostility to Conservative Blacks and Hispanics rather than uphold them as examples of what can happen if you get an education and follow the rules, is amoral. How threatened are these groups when people they are supposedly helping prove that you can go as far as you like in this great Country. Middle class minorities no longer feel they need the Communist whip bosses in the real racist Party to improve their lives. This is the real threat to the Dims.
Why does Jesse Jackmail and Al Step-n-fetchon go along with this Jim Crow mentality. It is simple really, they receive the power of holding their people down. Both have become millionaires on the backs of their people. They have set-up numerous cottage industries which extort money from corporations that are crippled when they bring their rent-a-mobs to the front doors. Anytime Conservatives bring up competition or choice to NEA schools, Jesse’s mafia is shouting racism. If you’re White, you fear the tactic of having to prove your not a racist. If you’re Black, you’re a traitor to your race.
These forces have trapped Blacks in this Country to live in their status quo, which is poverty. Until another Martin Luther King arrives in their world and speaks out against their own oppression there will be no change. If he does arrive he will have to overcome hostilities that have not been seen since the 40s and 50s, only by their own people. The attack dogs in the press will barking and the water hoses of the Jesse Inc will be aimed with full force. The strength and courage of this person will have to be beyond MLK or Ghandi since the armies against them will be stronger and far more dangerous. The entire liberal establishment will be massed to protect their number one sacred cow. This cow is being Gored to Unchain a People.

The newest charge of the DemonRat Party is that President Bush runs an administration with a culture of corruption. This is a high risk strategy from a despaRat Party. Just as they had to change the definition of lying to convince the country that Bush Lied, they have to now stretch the definition of corruption. What the World has to understand is that the Neo-Commies on the Left are tossing rocks from the Tarpits of Histoir.
Once the Anti-America crowd felt that the Country was no longer rabidly patriotic about the war and there were no WMD found, they began the Bush Lied campaign. To make this statement true they had to completely change the definition of lie and turn it into moved or mistaken. If President Bush had lied about the missing WMD than he had to know that the weapons never existed. He had to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that those weapons weren’t in Iraq when he said that they were. Otherwise it was being misinformed. Likewise, for these Mooreons to be able to make the charge that he lied they need to prove beyond a doubt that the WMD was never there.
When sex-president clinton said that he, “never had sex with that woman...Monica Lewinski” he was lying. He knew that he did and he said he didn’t. That was a lie, period. Now, he used the entire Dept of Justice to obfuscate that lie and keep him from being convicted for perjury, but it was a lie by anyone’s definition. Even the Kook-left state on their bumper stickers, claiming nobody died when clinton lied. How refreshing! They can add that nobody was freed from tyranny other than Terrorists under the clinton/Reno regime.
When President George W Bush stated there were WMD in Iraq he was stating that with the best information available at the time. Every govt in the World including Saddamn said that he had these weapons and was actively trying to acquire more from Korea and should have been believed. Even BJ made a limp attack on Iraq to knock out his WMD capability with cruise missiles. For 18 months Bush demanded that Saddamn let the inspectors free reign in his Country and Saddamn continued to play his shell game with Hans McGoo Blix.
After checking and rechecking Intel for the 18 months we had troops on Iraq’s border, President Bush made the decision to send in the 82nd Airborne Inspectors. We would still know he had weapons if we had not sent in our Troops. For GW to ignore Iraq after 9/11 and then have those weapon released on our Country would have been completely disasterous negligence. He warned Saddamn and the World of his plans if they didn’t comply and love him or hate him you know he does what he says. Saddamn tried to bluff GW with a losing hand and lost, big time!
So this is how the Stone Age Press and their minions in the DNC have twisted the term lie to not only damage President Bush but to improve the standing of the DemonRats since they need to claim everybody lies. Truth is clinton knowingly lied to America, George Bush told the Truth as he knew it and what most likely was. The Left has to manufacture a culture of corruption to pave the way for HilaryCare’s compulsive lying.
Now the Kook-left is trying to try to charge both Parties are corrupt to excuse their own corruption. They are going to convict all of the Republican leadership that has the most minimal accusations. There will be no innocent until proven guilty for our Party because the press and DNC hate them with every fibre of the cancer ridden beings. Any accusation or rumor will be assumed guilty till proved innocent to further their attack.
The DinoRats are playing a very high risk game with the Republicans are corrupt charges. The irony of being lectured from a Party who’s prime spokesmen are a drunken adulterer murderer and a sex-president who was banging his interns, is astounding? We are getting moral lectures from a homosexual who ran a child prostitution ring out of his house, but he didn’t blow...er know? If this explodes like the other ACME cigars, the Rats and Stone Age Press will be lucky to get 25% approval ratings.
Do the Rats really want to compare the co-clinton WH and talk about President Bush’s so called corruption? It may be cliche’ but Bring It!! Remind us about HilaryCare Rob’em and all of her scandals right up to her election against the prosecutor challenger. This is a last gasp strategy by a dying despaRat Party.
