Marines Quiet About Brutal New Weapon
Defense Tech ^ | 11/14/05 | David Hambling

War is hell. But it’s worse when the Marines bring out their new urban combat weapon, the SMAW-NE. Which may be why they’re not talking about it, much.

This is a version of the standard USMC Shoulder Mounted Assault Weapon but with a new warhead. Described as NE - "Novel Explosive"- it is a thermobaric mixture which ignites the air, producing a shockwave of unparalleled destructive power, especially against buildings.

A post-action report from Iraq describes the effect of the new weapon: "One unit disintegrated a large one-storey masonry type building with one round from 100 meters. They were extremely impressed." Elsewhere it is described by one Marine as "an awesome piece of ordnance."

My friend I carried a flamethrower before napalm was invented. I was on Guam in 1945 and with 11 other MARINES, we sure took the war to the Niamey. We could only get about 50 yards with the flame, but by holding the nozzle down close to the ground we could get the flame rolling like a tumble weed, and get another 25 yards or so. I had a friend by the name of Frank Calvin who got the Navy Cross using his flamethrower. I seen the Army distrait the flamethrower with Napalm at Camp Roberts after I got back. It was awesome.

Good evening and the very best to you and yours.

I heard that if you put HOT peppers (whole pepper not the power)in the moles diggings. They will leave. Seems they do not like HOT PEPPERS. An will remember that your yard is not friendly any more. Try it on the gophers. Worst case is they might like the peppers. I believe that rabbits do not like hot peppers either. I would look for the hottest peppers you can find and feed them to the yard pest. Good luck

I would surmise the fuel has its own chemical oxidizer and accelerant. No gaseous O2 enrichment needed.

sounds like just another weapon the left will harp on till we can't use it because it's not fair.

That would be why the Marines are quiet about their new found arsenal toy. Marines know damn well who their enemies are at home: democrats & MSM - afar: terrorists

I like the T.U.R.D. mentioned above.

Also connected to the comments on this article someone mentions that their has already been a variant for the RPG7. I thought I had heard about this before but couldn't place it.

Either way. Be sure that the Human Rights Watch people will have a cow but I recall that during the first Gulf War a major concern was Saddam having FAE weapons on a much larger scale for his mobile SCUD launchers.

Also how some soon forget the Super Gun Saddam was in the middle of building. I believe that was aimed at Israel.
