Isn't Toulouse also the place where the Airbus Industrie is located and the final assembly place for its widebodies? (The A32X series are assembled in Hamburg in Germany) If riots spread there, there could be ramifications for France's economy.

But something tells me that if Toulouse goes, so goes France, so goes Europe - and who knows where this stops.Remeber when the Taliban blew the faces of the Budda statues off? Well, that's the Eiffle Tower, the Louvre, and everything else in just a few years. The sad part is all the top socialist, whiny bitches who let this happen will end up in New York (or Hollywood) to tell us how great this was and how we should follow.
Better start buying your Hallmark 'Happy Ramadan' cards now if you are not going to fight it.

Maybe the sky really is falling, I hope the world wakes up in time to nip this in the bud.

When I was in the Louvre earlier this year, I noticed plaques acknowledging VERY LARGE donations of cash and artifacts from Arab interests.

Did you fly on NWA's A319 or 320s? The narrowbodies had major components made from various European member countries: fuselage in Germany, cockpit in France, wings from Britain, and tails from Spain (if the formula from the A300 years are still correct). They are then shipped to Hamburg for final assembly (it is Toulouse for the widebodies like A330, 340, 380) and tests.

Actually, we get more oil from ourselves, Canada, and Venezuela than from the Arabs. The Arabs and Iranians largely supply Europe.

Correct. The Airbus "campus" is right outside of Toulouse, as is the factory for the A340s and A380s.

Arab world, unfortunately. Although I know the PRC has its own oil resources in Xinjiang and Gansu - demands are such that a majority of oil is also from the Middle East.

China gets alot of oil from Iran. Japan has some offshore oil itself, gets some from Russia, and even imports from the U.S. Not sure about the rest of Asia.

Who supplies China, India and the Pacific Rim? Probably Indonesia, and the mid-east. The major point though is that oil is a commodity and is sold on the world market, with the New York(West Texas) and London(Brent) prices being the benchmark.
