Advantage in Money. Habit. Too many people vote with NO real idea what they are voting for or on the basis of imperfect, data spoon fed them by a politically corrupt "news media". Too many of them are single issue. A surprising habit of political fanaticism in too many Americans. Really surprising how many people are 100%ers who reject notion of Politics's as the art of the possible not of ideology. Unquestioned political indoctrination from upbringing. A sports team mentality the "Dems are my team" as one college girl told me in Jan 1993.
I do not think the correlation between Rush Limbaugh rise and waning Democrat political fortunes is a coincidence. And of course, Ronaldus Maximus Reaganus who made people realize they were not leaving the Democrat party of their ancestors, that party had left them.
I have to laugh. My best friend in High School was scandalized in 1980 when I asked him if he was voting for Reagan. Being several years older it would be his 1st time voting. Said there was no way in bleep he would vote for Reagan. By 1995, he is a staunch Dittohead.
So while the political battle ebbs and flows, the tide of victory runs our way. We are on the side of the great Goddess, Human Liberty. Our foes the fevered fanatics STILL clinging to a nonsensical vision of one day returning to a failed past. No matter how hard they strive to deny it, the march of time has past them by. We will prevail.
"Stop whining, you won!"....
hee...hee....
Congratulations MNJ!!! Your brilliance DID shine through as usual!!!
A number of years ago Jesse Jackson was on a local talk show here. He was asked if he was supporting the black Republican or the white Democrat? His answer was the white Democrat. Asked why, since he was supposed to be such a big supporter for blacks getting elected, he explained "she's on 'our' team."
Even race is not the real issue people like Jackson profess it to be. It's really just about politics and the power they will have if they win. Jackson uses race as an issue to demonize opponents or stimulate voters. As such, he's the worst sort of bigot and racist there is.
Whine us? Surely you jest Sir-rah. Why wars have be started by lesser slanders then your words Sir!
We do not whine, we merely raise, for the edification of the audience, the intellectual and moral shortcomings of certain unnamed Freepers with an unhealthy 800 fetish. Us Whine? I THINK NOT!
We take for out motto, 1000 or BUST. Next Sunday, we wait the Sunday morning threads coming anxiously.
Hopefully the week will be kind and grant us a lineup worthy of the insightful, brilliant commentary all Free Republic posters bring to this forum. Based on previous observation and data, I serious doubt the Dinosaur Media's Sunday line up will be worthy of our steel wits and trenchant commentary.
However hope does spring eternal in a true Conservative heart! Pity the room temperature intellects of the Dinosaur Media who are so unaware of this gem waiting to be discovered! Why vision of glory, image the audience rating "Face the Freepers" or "Meet the Intellectuals" would draw in Sunday Morning Viewers for those tottering old senilities at CBS! A veritable ratings slaughter of Homeric proportion their for the taking! Alas, they lack both the wit and the courage to grasp such gander! So I shall resign myself to the great good fortune of being able to READ all 1000 posts next Sunday!!!!!
Nice analysis. I feel the same way. But I get a little riled up when I think of the poison still being spewed forht from our Universities and MSM. GLTY.
I did a double take too! I just couldn't believe Dean said that! The dummies are really , really stupid. Jay rockefeller finished the day and gave Dean a good run for his money on stupidity. I just love the way Britt Hume slaps the idiots around! And he sure did tonite!
Personal staff yes, the Committee staff, the bureaucrats that actually run the nuts and bolts of the Congress, I have been told do not change much. The people who actually run, say Congressional Budget Office or things of that nature are Careerists. I do not think the Repbs have made nearly as deep and wide a house cleaning in the Congressional Staff as they probably should.
Not to mention he has access to classified material..
Anyone know the status of the criminal investigation into Rockefeller ,Durbin and Wyden ?
"The Justice Department has launched a criminal investigation into whether Democratic Senators Dick Durbin, Jay Rockefeller and Ron Wyden leaked details about a secret "black ops" CIA satellite program last December in a move that may have seriously compromised national security, former Deputy Undersecretary of Defense Jed Babbin said on Saturday.
"The CIA made a request to the Justice Department to investigate and possibly bring criminal charges against these three [senators]," Babbin told WABC Radio host Monica Crowley. "My information is that investigation is ongoing."

You are welcome you had a good day.
Pressure, MHJ...pressure, you are putting such pressure on us to be beyond mediocre, more than just witty...but profoundly funny.
Also, if the subjects of our discussion are not remarkable, then that does put a crimp in one's creativity doncha know.
I do believe though that I will be on the look-out for any and all histrionic comments by the other side...C-span being a font of off the cuff speechs should be rife with mistatements and overbearing pontificating....I shall be vigilant in my quest...
You, Johnnie, rodguy, Morgan, snugs, anita and all..... make me feel like we're all sitting together in a room watching these shows. This thread often makes me laugh, sometimes cry and often sigh in strong agreement.
Thanks to all of you for your insights, rants, vents, and opinions!
I love it when a plan comes together. Keep talking, Howard!
you do a great job....
I wouldn't want to have to pick from such an awesome group of tremendous folks...
This is only my second week here- but it is the best power hours of the week for me--
I get educated- plus lots of laughter....
PERFECT!!
Thanks for all you do....
You are soooo right! However the many Zuchinni brains in this country STILL won't get it.
