It's really not a secret. Nobody in congress has all the information and they all rely on their staff. A senator or representative comes and goes but the staff is usually the same for years. These guys are political junkies and they give information to their boss that will make him look good while supporting whichever side they are on. If the congressman lacks character and principles, such as Rockefeller, they will end up making mistakes by being on both sides of issues. That's why we had the Kerry flip-flops. He had to flip-flop because his core principles came into play versus his past positions aided by pressure from his donors, special interest groups and the desire to win the election.
GWB needs to kick those Pubbies that strayed off the Reservation in their Collective Groin, and we will be right there helping him wipe off his shoe. A President has the power especially in his own party to correct the misdeeds of the wayward Children, and I believe that he is fed up with those pathetic little losers and will start booting them any day now. I hope it is sooner than later.
"I watched them do it live on my TV screen!"
Yes, they can talk to your receiver but they cannot receive info back from it. The receiver has no transmit capability and the dish you use is waaaaay to small to transmit to the satellite. I have worked in satellite communications and say that with confidence.
Same rumor is false with GPS systems. They CANNOT provide trackng information on your movements to "them".
By the way. I don't believe Rockefeller ever read any of the intelligence information he was given. I believe he relied on other sources to form his opinions and failed in his position of oversight. Rockefeller was reading the NY Times, and believing every word of conjecture, instead of the actual reports themselves and drawing his own conclusions.
I have to add to your list of things that Congress has run away from.....border control.
I know, I know, that just about everyone on FR is unhappy with Bush's idea of a guest-worker program...and wants more border control...as do I...BUT,
I have heard several small debates about immigration in the Senate...and it became clear to me..that this issue is NOT one that any politician that has to run again any time soon, wants to tackle.
So...for anyone who is so down on President Bush about the border problem, that he/she has gotten frustrated over all with him....just remind yourselves that NOTHING gets done in Washington without the Congress having their hands in it.
Had to go feed the doves, all 110 of them and 11 squirrels.
No, he just refused to go on with RNC Chairman Mehlman at the same time. Link is in my reply #8 below.
***DNC CHAIRMAN "CHICKEN LITTLE" HOWARD DEAN REFUSES TO APPEAR ON SET WITH RNC CHAIR ***

Actually, Howard Dean said just what you just posted...
He said this morning that the Democrats not only DON'T have their own ideas about Iraq, or anything else...
They are going to HAVE one, or NEED one until next year, because their JOB right now is to stop anything and everything that the Republicans are trying to accomplish..
Yep. But whenever this is pointed out, the left says "Our presence in Iraq causes all the terrorism.." Yeah, like Achmed the bomb maker was a normal, law abiding, family man before the US invaded. He just woke up and said "I liked it better when my family members were fed alive into wood chippers. Im so mad I think I'll go blow up a Police training site..."
Just how stupid do liberals think we are? If we werent fighting in Iraq, just where do you think Achmed the bombmaker would be, Dean?? Let me tell you, Rome, Paris, London, New York, LA, and Saint Louis, Dean! Sheesh, how can one group hate their country so much?
This is also the man, that to this day....will not release all of his records from when he was Governor of Vermont...
so, for him to accuse anyone of "keeping something back" from Congress or the American people...it is the pot/black thingy!
"The ugly anti-American propaganda machine is working VERY fine."
The machine may be working .. but it's not producing.
Considering that 78% of Americans trust the military, their military bashing isn't working at all.
I believe that Hillary is using Slick Willie for all he is worth while she can, and if his Health should deteriorate then she will benefit much better than if he were still out nailing every willing Bimbo and embarrassing her for the thousandth time. Hillary has such bad over- all appeal it would be a huge benefit if she were to be giving sympathy for something tragic, or semi-tragic. Lets face it he looks Gawd awful and sickly.
LOL----I working on it....not necessarily with enlightening posts...but, I am "padding the stats" with some remarks here and there...
Rodguy is gonna hate both of us, ya know!
As much as I agree with you President Bush has never done anything like this. Best we can hope for would be for Rove and others to, shall we say, stimulate congressional GOPers.
For what it's worth, every state has national RNC representatives. I talk to the two we have and complain to them. Knowing the national party is run like the state and county, it's a ground-up kind of pressure that I believe helps. These are people who are talking directly to Mehlman and these are the national committeemen and committeewomen who are responsible for the effectiveness of the RNC.
I may be wrong....but, I think I heard the other night..that over 50,000 cars had been burned in France...and this was like Thursday or Friday...
No, it is was point being made that is apparently is way too subtle to the Bash Bush Always Choir to grasp. I will put it right out in plain English since no one seems willing to actually THINK about the issue. All we get from a certain collection of 10 or so Freepers is the same old litany of the same old whines day after day after day after day. I have to wonder
What does the Complain Constantly "Conservative" Choir think they accomplish when they do nothing but shoot at their own side ALL the time???
We get the same litany of a half dozen of the same complaints posted several THOUSAND times a month from the same collection of 10 or so posters. Most of us would be eternally grateful if at LEAST the Whiny Conservative group found something NEW to complain about.
Another question. Why is it, that the Whine all the Time Choir NEVER thinks to hold CONGRESS to account? Nope instead all we get day after day after day is the same old litany of about 5 or so whines about Bush.
Funny how monochromatic this collect of 10 or so Moveon.org style "Conservatives" are. Considering how they never seem able to do anything BUT bash Bush, I wonder just who's side they REALLY are on? It all well and good to CLAIM to be Conservative. It would be nice to see some ACTIONS to match the TALKING.
Rocky should have read a collection of his old statements instead. We know what's up with him anyway... between he and Dash with the memo.
I disagree, I think your posts are most enlightening.
