Liberal Love-In on Fox & Friends: "Disenfranchised" French Yoots; Rove Should "Recuse" Himself
Fox & Friends Weekend | governsleastgovernsbest

Posted on 11/13/2005 4:25:54 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

Just when you thought Fox & Friends Weekend couldn't get any worse . . .

I thought it was bad enough when Juliet Huddy and Mike Jerrick were providing some kind of balance to Julian Phillips blatherings.

It's a sign of just how bad things have gotten, with Juliet and Mike now gone, that Phillips has become something of the voice of reason!

Kiran Chetry and Page Hopkins are sitting in this morning with Phillips, and the trio tried to outdo each other in their PC comments on the French riots.

While the women wrung their hands about how the French yoots have been "disenfranchised," Phillips talked about how the underclasses have historically been mistreated in France "going back to the time of the French revolution!

If there was anything in their discussion about the rioters being Muslims, egged on by radical imams, I missed it.

Then it was on to a discussion of the GOP's fortunes. The screen was filled with shots of Rove and Condi and I am not 100% certain who made the comment, but it seemed that it was Page Hopkins who suggested that since Karl Rove has become such a "lightning rod," it might be a good idea for him to "recuse himself.

"Recuse himself? That is something a judge does when he has a conflict of interest. I'm assuming that Page was suggesting that Rove either resign or take a leave of absence, but who really knows?

Here's where Julian played the voice of reason [!], saying he wasn't sure Rove's 'recusal' was the answer.

What a mess of a show. Has the time has come for Fox News to scrap the weekend edition and start again from scratch?

During the week I find Special Report with Brit Hume the best news show...

Wish we could clone Brit Hume. He's the best in the business, by far.

We know the contemporary news culture is woven by a common blindfold obstructing any useful view of reality. Thus, Kilmeade’s ability to visualize the real world places him in a category closer to genius.

For your comparison, that's an accurate description of Kilmeade. Also, for this discussion, Kilmeade is a maverick....in a media where the portrayal of reality, truth and honesty is almost completely absent.

I was watching til Paige Hopkins started gushing over her upcoming interview with Robert Kennedy Jr.

I Don't think you're going to have to listent to Robert Kennedy Jr. much longer. I think he's dying of lung cancer, or perhaps the liberals will rename it Peter Jennings' Disease. I've seen him pimping it twicet this weekend and his voice has that same ringing rasping quality that Jennings had. He did not look or sound good, not good at all. Before he sounded like an a-hoole, now he seemed too weak to sound like an a-hoole

They used to have Hardy the cameraman and a cool producer. Both have left and the show has cratered.

I can't remember her name right now, but I'm talking about the beautiful black woman who plays classical piano.

I don't know if she's liberal, as you say, but I do know that recently some libs tried to smear her with a rumor that she and Condi Rice have a lesbian thing, and she responded with the fact that she is not only heterosexual, but has very high standards for the men she dates: they must be decent, Christian men. That would be inconsistent with the idea she's a liberal, although I admit it's possible.

About Fox in general. The supply side of news is much more susceptible to infection by the socialism virus, thus individuals with a liberal ideology are as pervasive at Fox News as are the little crusty bumps on the skin caused by chickenpox. But the demand for real news will always be present among regular people, and is the reason for the limited conservative tone on some of Fox programming. This conservative tone is the only reason Fox exists.

Fox, the doctor orders an increase in conservatism.

Sent. I don't have much faith in their listening but I mentioned this thread and hope one of the email readers comes over to see what a group of us think.

Thanks for performing this service, gov. When my TV came on, some insipid drivel (I think promo for global warming) was on, so I switched to MSNBC (say WHAT?.......LOL!) and stayed there. Your report confirms that I treated myself well. At least MSNBC gives news and interesting interviews. And no monkey chatter.

On an earlier Sunday, I commented here that Julian actually appeared intelligent when paired with these two chattering females. That's when I knew for sure it was time to leave.

You may have hit on it. Once you live and work in the belly of the beast, you are going to have pressures from all sides to conform in order to get smiles from your peers and neighbors.

Don't go far.

When Fox and Friends did their homofest stories and thought some country star would balance the subjects I had LONG changed the channel.

FNC may PRETEND they are balanced but they "leak" the left leanings of the producers. If I want ANY left leaning homo-coverage, liberal pablum topics, I can easily watch CNN. I go to FNC to avoid the islamofacist, pro homo, anti american manure that infests all the other channels.

Seriouly, whoever booked mary mapes on FNC should be fired.

we may just drop Fox and Dish in '06.

That's exactly what I did long ago. I was noticing the slow liberal creep on Fox and they were the main reason I got it to begin with. I haven't found a single reason to get it back.

I'm just so sick of Kilmeade's preening. If I hear him comment one more time about his shirt, or his tie, or his hair, I think I'll retch. And all the little asides and quips about "gayness" and man bags are just too much to take in the morning.

I agree that there are occasional flashes of conservatism that show through, but they are so rare that it's hardly worth waiting for.

A real man doesn't talk about his clothes and grooming all the time -- he just looks terrific and pretends that he got that way naturally.

None of them can hold a candle to Judge Napolitano. A good show would be hosted by the Judge and Michelle Malkin. Now, that would be worth watching.

I lost ALL respect for Judge Napalitano when he thought it was just wonderful when judge Greer defied Congress and ordered the withholding of food and water (illegal in the State of Florida) to hasten the death of a woman who did not have a living will stating those were her wishes; absent a living will, the law has, historically, ruled on the side of life.

I'll take Brian's preening any day to a judge who doesn't condemn his "brother" in crime, simply because it's another judge. That's as bad as the "blue wall of silence."

My only comment on that last criticism of Brian Kilmeade is that it regards extremely trivial matters; I do not recall having heard Kilmeade address them and in fact such discourse is quite boring. And for the sake of clarification regarding a more interesting topic—that of political debate—Kilmeade comes across as 100% conservative while Fox News in general is approximately 30-40%.

I agree, Napolitano’s opinion as described above was neither morally nor intellectually justifiable. I guess he wimped out on us.

It wasn't justifiable in the slightest; he's proven himself to lack strength of character which all judges should have, bowing, instead, to PC/liberal ideologies regarding the euthanasia movement....hence, not credible.
