Chirac didn't show up for President Reagan's funeral, although he was at Sea Island, Ga. at the time for the G-8 summit. We owe France nothing but contempt.

I wish the president actually would say that publicly. Its no more rude than most of the invective that comes out of Chi-crap's mouth about the United States most of the time.

It's funny 'cause it's true.
Somewhere recently I read an interview with a female suicider who was asked that question. She said she gets to be the head of the 72 virgins.
All of this makes me wonder what's so great about 72 virgins? After the guy has visited each one once, they're not virgins anymore, right? So now Mr. Suicider has all these women nagging him that he doesn't spend more time with them, or that he spends too much time with others, nag, nag, nag. Forever.
I could be wrong, but I know I read or heard somewhere that the virgins stay virgins even after intercourse. In other words, their virginity is restored to them so the suicide bomber gone to heaven will always have 72 virgins. Nifty, huh?
The only country that has tried to do this is Spain, which under Aznar made many visas available to Latin Americans in order to encourage a "guest worker" population that shared the values of the host country. I believe someone in the Italian government suggested that Italy do this - take in guest workers from Catholic African countries - and was immediately screamed down and called a racist by the left. Of course.
Now, I do: French leaders are disgusting.
When interviewed by a French journalist, Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin repeated "corrected" the journalist for calling the riots "les émeutes" preferring instead "les incidents isolés." He scoffed at the suggestion that France has a problem with Islam, saying that France is a multi-cultural nation and that Islam is a Religion of Peace and Love, blah blah blah.
Is there any doubt of the position the current leadership in France would have taken vis-a-vis the nazis? One yearns for the return of Winston Churchill.
About those 5 Marines......they should be sent via Turkey.
Lets NEVER forget that the original plan called for the 4TH Infantry Division to go through Turkey and attack Saddam from the north. The Sunni Triangle would have been in a vise between the 4TH I.D., the 3RD I.D.,and the Marines.
Remember all of our ships sitting offsore of Turkey, unable to unload, and much other equipment on shore but unable to move.
Chirac and de Vileperson were responsible for this by lobbying the Turks regarding Turkey's membership in the EU.
How many of our brave men and women have lost their lives because of French opposition to our original plan?

I'd forgotten that Chirac didn't bother to go to RR's funeral -- mea culpa -- but it was mentioned last night, probably on Fox...maybe O'Reilly. CNN and the rest wouldn't have made such a faux pas as to bring it up.
