The Observer (UK)
Pierre Purseigle, 30, Stipendiary Lecturer in Modern History, Jesus College, Oxford.
'The riots are not only an indictment of political and economic elites for they also tragically undermine the historic failure of our intellectual elites. Distinguished by their arrogant parochialism, they have proved incapable to think about the pluralist nature of French society.'
Claude Fruchet, 25, radio journalist, Paris
'It's very difficult to find a job in France when your name is Martin, but it's almost mission impossible to find a job, rent a flat or go to a discotheque, when your name is Mamadou or Abdel.'

"What white France thinks"
...should be in the form of a question 'White France Thinks?'
Can you ask the question what "white America thinks." How divided are these people by race. Good grief.
Pierre Purseigle is a putz.
Somehow....somewhere....it must be the fault of white folks...regardless of ethncity.
Les personnes blanches sont la racine de tout le mal là ont jamais été... période.
how can anyone find a job if no one ever gets fired?
Jeebus these people are clueless!
They are divided by religion and to a degree race and ethncity.
We are too except so far Islam has not been added so much to the mix as in Europe.
a bad mix in my view.
If muslims do the same in the US as in France,do the police or populace retaliate?

White Frenchmen don't look very white to me, unless they are from or live in Normandy, an Anglo Saxon province (lots of blonds around there). France has long accepted bloodlines from a lot of places. The most recent one, has not been seamless.
Or if you don't look?
I look forward to the pix of Jesse "Pimp Daddy" Jackson in a towel doo.
Surprised he has not "shifted" already.

Yes, the villain in any sort of conflict with racial/ethnic undertones is always whitey.
The effete stupidity of the socialist Left.
They can't reconcile their PC self-image of
"do-gooders for the common man", with their
need to defend their country, or even
themselves, without revealing the true
tyrannical authoritarianism that underlies
their position of "knowing what's best for
everybody else".
This will not be resolvesd, without the masks
being torn away, and i havew little doubt, much
blood spilled...curfews, un this situation, only
thwart & delay the inevitable clash for real
tangible control.
Now, is Chirac man enough to realise this is, in
fact about power> about who is in control? Does he
cede French soveriegnty, chunk by chubk, or does
he act with steel? ..perhaps he will be forced out,
and his authority given to one who will put down
the insurrectionists with determind and thorough
mericilessness of the Laws of survival?
Sarkozy appears to be Fance's only hope.
Help them, Obi Wan Sarkozy!
We haven't embraced them fully into French society.
We haven't given them an affirmative action program.
We haven't capitulated sufficiently to their religious needs.
We have sent our horrible, sadistic policemen into their neighborhoods.
We have failed to provide multicultural diversity.
The poor darlings! They only want good jobs and acceptance.
We've created a market for 10,000 more French cars. We can hire the Africans to build them!
We want a slice of Camembert and some bread. Enough of this thinking! Give them what they want!
That horrible Bush and those arrogant Americans are seeing this!

"If social services would provide us with a half decent brie that went better with crackers and '95 Bordeaux, I wouldn't give a rat's behind one way or the other." --Pierre Poop de Dinde, Ville de Truffe.
Says it about as plain as it can be said.
"Ah, but there is the little matter that the enlisted ranks of the French army are heavily Moslem. Again, the more you let in, the less you can do about them. For France, Id guess that the war is over, though the fighting just begins."
I know why they can't call in the army now. Ha, they're screwed.
