Lots of rumors about free cocktails on Champs Elysee tonight. Molotovs, not Comsmos. We'll see.
I mean cosmos, of course. Man, that looked like I've already had one.
Good point!!
It ought to be getting dark there, about now, yes?
I think that the official validation of the constitution in liberated Iraq (October 25th) made the French Muslims realize that France doesn't give a hoot about the rights of Muslims to control their own lives.
Is French Muslim jealousy of Iraqi Muslim self-determination fueling their anger?
What do you mean by ready to surrender? The French govt. capitulated nearly a week ago when Chirac told the cops not to return fire when they get shot at , then called for billions in new welfare & what they refer to as "positive discrimination" ie muslim hooligansget preference on job applications.
HA! That was my favorite part of the whole thing!
oh- and the fact that France shows no solidarity with Christians and Jews...
DK, perfect post. I have likewise been diligently working to follow this story as the press buries it deeper and deeper each day. You have accurately summarized the situation. I am troubled that it seems to be dropping off the radar screen even here at FR. It is disconcerting that the leftist Media still has this much power to spike a MAJOR turn of events that portrays their socialist appeasement policies in a bad light. I honestly thought the tide had turned in the information war, but so far this is a huge win for the Left in the battle over control of the press.
Absolutely hysterical French frog. I can't stop laughing.
I see when a mosque recieves the slightest damage it makes the news. How many Christian and Jewish places of worship have been damaged?
We don't hear of any Christian churches getting damaged in the arab countries. Oh, wait there aren't any to damage. Intolerant damn muslims.
We have that famous song, "Have You Forgotten?" They'll be singing, "Did You Know?"

I thought the same thing upon reading the former post. I truly don't think things would be much better here. All of us like to think that because we have the Second Amendment that we would handle things differently, but I'm not really sure. Perhaps if we ALL rose up, but look at how the person who tries to protect him/herself, family or possessions is treated by the authorities if a firearm is used. My God, even soldiers are brought up on charges if they shoot the enemy. (A super morale builder.)
I pray America doesn't experience what is going on in Europe - not only because I love my country, but for fear -REAL fear - that the authorities would punish the protectors of America as opposed to the oppressors.
Another good reason to have passed the Kyoto Agreement /sarc/ -- France could be fined for all the pollution they have added to the ozone hole. What about that, Greenies???
"The media devote a lot of attention to the beating incident. Apparently there is no fear that this will lead to copycat behaviour by frustrated policemen."
Says it all.
"Meanwhile, Amnesty International has said it is concerned that the state of emergency in France may lead to human rights violations by the French police."
