Less than 48 hours after Chris Coleman was swept into office, Progressive Minnesota Executive Director Ryan Greenwood was on the phone, trying to revive efforts to pass a living-wage law in St. Paul.
One of Greenwood's main obstacles to the proposal was removed this week with Mayor Randy Kelly's crushing electoral defeat, and Greenwood saw an opportunity. He is not alone.
Coleman's victory Tuesday has emboldened a City Council majority and progressive interests that are getting ready to push an aggressive agenda early in the new mayor's term. Proposals that Kelly sidetracked are being given new life, and changes for St. Paul could come quickly.

Maybe I should move back. I could use a raise.

So St Paul is soon to be a pale shadow of Minneapolis. Wonder how soon we will be getting lecture from the Mayor about "White Flight" to the Suburbs? Hey Kerry voters! No need to emigrate to Canada, St Paul will be your Socialist enclave! Move there!

...progressive interests that are getting ready to push an aggressive agenda ... In other words the nanny state is alive and well in Minnesota. It should be interesting to see the social engineering that's going to take place now.
I don't suppose anyone told the voters, who put these liberals in office, that when wages rise prices rise too?

well that certainly good news for Woodbury, Hudson, etc. Their business will be booming soon as people stop shopping at St. Paul. I had considered moving back to St. Paul, but it sounds like another lost cause.

"I don't suppose anyone told the voters, who put these liberals in office, that when wages rise prices rise too?" Hell, that's no problem. They'll just institute price controls.

That rushing sound you hear is the whirlwind you are about to reap...LOL!
(Actually, not you personally, since you got out while the getting was good...but that's really a shame about everyone else who just wanted to live in a nice Minnesota town...I'm so glad the state/federal gov'mints aren't "direct democracies"!!)

Why do liberals hate smokers so much? Is it because it detracts from the "healthy yuppie" image they like to project?
