Our values are surely endangered, but not the ones Jimmy's talking about....
Yawn
"Any comments from fellow Freepers;);)"
He is a disgrace to the presidency and to Christianity.
"OUR ENDANGERED VALUES, by Jimmy Carter"
What values? The one's he had caused me and my family to go hungry on more the a few occasions while he was in office. Even spent a whole winter with no heat. What values mr. jimma carter? None that I want any part of!
Sorry about that. Hope the Lord forgives me but I can't stand the man.
Who's Jimmy Carter?
It's all Bush's fault...
Just NUTS!
That's terrible, even number three on Amazon.
Win a sweater.
And what, pray tell Mr. Carter, values are you talking about? The ones where you kill tens of millions of babies? Where you and your ilk have savaged the body of Christ in the United States? Where you have eroded the freedoms that our founding fathers had won for us?
I used to think you were a great man. I recognize now how naive I was to believe that. You are not nearly the humanitarian or scholar I once thought you were.
Our values are surely endangered if a Jimmy Carter book can make the top of the best seller list.
The NY Times needs a "Best Selling Drivel" list.
Which is of course not exactly what the First Amendment says. The government is to accord respect to the rights of the people to choose their religious affiliation, and the government is not to have a national church. It was taken for granted that the churches influenced the people, and the people as voters influenced the government.
And a TWIT
Hmm.
Lets see; elected in 1976 and took office January 1977. Okay have that plot.
Beaten by Reagan in 1980 and left office in 1981. Okay have that plot.
January 1977 the misery curve spikes upward and peaks in 1980. Hmm
Oh I see it! It all depends on what our means. So based on his term as President his values were the nations values. So we have lost our need to be miserable and must regain it! But then the President is very well insulated from all of the problems faced by the electorate.
I miss the late 1970s as much as I miss 21% interest rates; buying gas on alternate days based on my cars tags, spending winters with the house set for 65 - 70 degrees and summers set for 80 - 85 degrees, the Soviet Union running every international conference, and the mainstream media reporting the number of days that American diplomats were held hostage (guess the MSM didnt understand how the voters would view that display of Presidential Leadership).
Jimmy go back to your farm and collect your federal retirement and peanut bonus and be thankful you have Secret Service protection where ever you go so you dont have any fears like the rest of us who are still paying you for your incompetence!
