French Riots Fan Anti-Semitism 14:52 Nov 11, '05 / 9 Cheshvan 5766 By Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu

Moslem riots in France have fanned anti-Semitism, and four synagogues and Jewish schools have been firebombed, despite Jewish media reports that Jews are not being targeted more than others.

"Walter H," who lives in France, stated that the violence against Jews has been country-wide. "In Lyon, a car was rammed into a synagogue and set on fire. In Montpellier, the Jewish religious center was firebombed [as] were synagogues in Strasbourg and Marseilles [and] a Jewish school in Creteil," he wrote in an e-mail..

He also related that a Jewish sports club in Toulouse was attacked with Molotov cocktails and that vandals painted the words "Dirty Jew" on a statute of Alfred Dreyfus in Paris. He added, "15 men beat up members of a Jewish football team with sticks" in Bondy.

Most Jewish media have reported that Jewish leaders in France consider the recent riots a general expression of anger by North African immigrant communities against the government and society in general and not against Jews in particular.

Manek Weintraub, a leader in the Representative Council of the Jewish Institutions of France (CRIF) told the British website TotallyJewish.com, "So far nothing has happened. There was a Molotov cocktail that seems to have been hurled at a small synagogue but nobody really knows about it. It [the riots] will concern the public authorities but Jews are largely absent from the story, which is welcome."

French police are on high alert toward the weekend following the beginning of the third week of the violence. Although the number of torched vehicles has declined, rioters till set 463 vehicles on fire Thursday while the number in the Paris area rose from 84 to 111.

Paris police chief Pierre Mutz, in an attempt to discourage fire bombers, has banned buying or transporting gasoline in jerry cans.

As much as liberals like to toss around the "Nazi" word
(against Bush) ... radical islamicist really are the new
Nazis, in many significant ways.

And as with the last Nazis, we can expect the French to
to nothing significant about it. Even if they had a
Maginot Line this time, the enemy would already be
staffing it.

Sure they will! They'll collaborate!

Doesn't take much to ignite antisemitism anywhere in Europe.

".. radical islamicist really are the NEW

Nothing new under the Sun regarding Islam and their evil deeds, just someone else doing their bidding.

What the French Riot Mobs are Antisemitic?

I haven't heard that anywhere on MSM so it can't be true.
Mary Mapes has already weighed in on the Truth and who holds the keys to that box and it is MSM, if MSM doesn't think these poor kids are antisemitic then they aren't! Period! Besides what difference would it make if they were?

(SARC OFF) for the sarcasm challenged crowd

What a misleading headline. It should have been "Rioters Fan Anti-Semitism"

"Paris police chief Pierre Mutz, in an attempt to discourage fire bombers, has banned buying or transporting gasoline in jerry cans."

Possible violation of "la freedome de la trasporte de petrol", quaranteed under Article 3,215, Section 523 of the Constitution of the European Union.

> Papa Joe Kennedy even had a hard time recognizing
> the NAZIs for what they were.

We now know that was genetic :-)

But for the French to do what a sensible person would do,
requires that they acknowledge that their form of snobbish
pseudo-tolerant egalitarian socialism has serious flaws.
Ain't gonna happen.

I vote we don't bail 'em out this time,
just nuke all their strategic assets when the
Cutthroat Cult kills the remaining legacy
French hiding in Vichy, and takes over completely.

"Doesn't take much to ignite antisemitism anywhere in Europe."

Or most of the world, unfortunately. The US is probably one of the better countries now in that regard, and I wish American Jews other than myself were more aware of that. Might help more of them become Republican.

"I vote we don't bail 'em out this time,"

Honestly, I'm not seeing a way we could now, nor envisioning it happening later. They are ruled by a government they voted in. That government controls the country.

I've not reviewed the Joe Kennedy thing in some time. I'm rechecking what I stated earlier here. I believe he was kicked out of England, and I believe it was for making statements that insensed the English. I may have been wrong about him actually defending Hitler.

Thanks for the comments.

Joe Kennedy, Ambassador to Great Britain, believed that the Brits were going to lose the war. He also moved himself out of London to avoid the Blitz. Roosevelt removed him.
