WHITE HOUSE: Setting the Record Straight: Sen. Kennedy On Iraq
White House ^ | November 11, 2005

Posted on 11/11/2005 3:07:21 PM PST by West Coast Conservative

"It is regrettable that Senator Kennedy has chosen Veteran's Day to continue leveling baseless and false attacks that send the wrong signal to our troops and our enemy during a time of war. It is also regrettable that Senator Kennedy has found more time to say negative things about President Bush then he ever did about Saddam Hussein. If America were to follow Senator Kennedy's foreign policy, Saddam Hussein would not only still be in power, he would be oppressing and occupying Kuwait."

- Scott McClellan, White House Press Secretary

Sen. Kennedy On Iraq

Sen. Kennedy Said Saddam Hussein Was Developing WMDs: "We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction." (Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA), Remarks At The Johns Hopkins School Of Advanced International Studies, Washington, D.C., 9/27/02)

Sen. Kennedy: "Saddam Hussein Is A Dangerous Figure. He's Got Dangerous Weapons." (CBS' "Face The Nation," 10/6/02)

Sen. Kennedy Now Says The President Manipulated Facts About Iraq's WMDs: "'Instead of providing open and honest answers about how we will achieve success in Iraq and allow our troops to begin to come home,' Kennedy said, 'the president reverted to the same manipulation of facts to justify a war we never should have fought.'" (Deb Riechmann, "Bush Forcefully Attacks Critics Of The War In Iraq," Associated Press, 11/11/05)

Sen. Kennedy Opposed Removing Saddam Hussein From Kuwait. (S.J.Res.2, CQ Vote #2: Adopted 52-47: R 42-2; D 10-45, 1/12/91, Kennedy Voted Nay)

Sen. Kennedy Opposed Removing Saddam Hussein From Power. (H. J. Res. 114, CQ Vote #237: Passed 77-23: R 48- 1; D 29-21; I 0-1, 10/11/02, Kennedy Voted Nay)

I don't know what money fatboy brings to this state, but he sure does carry a lot of weight. Ha ha I made a pun.

It is simply the Kennedy mystique, and sure enough it is fading, but not soon enough for me.

I can't stand the hypocritical pig.

Very nice, but can they keep it up? Or will they wilt at the first cry of "bad dog!" Wait and see.

I like to think the reason why they waited so long before speaking was to dig in, muster up some umphh, and now charge full speed. I'm with Mad_Tom. It's a battle to the death.

Now or never! President needs to speak often and speak hard. For starters, the media will not be prepared to deal with and process all the volume of GWs comments. A "System overload" will result, and the RATS '06/08 game plan goes into the toilet.

I for one will be relentless in the truth!

How is it possible that that idiot Kennedy and his son Kerry could ever still be in office? What is the matter with Mass? They must all be inbred in that state....they are 2 of the most un American people I have ever seen.

Count the bacon dollars that Kennedy and Kerry have brought home to their tiny state! That says it all......

The people of Mass obviously don't really give a damn about the security of our nation as long as the bucks keep coming in!!!!!!!1

It's also unfortunate that Senator Kennedy flunked driver's ed.

Senator Kennedy, driving drunk, crashes into a river with a woman passenger, Mary Jo Kopechne. Kennedy saves himself and leaves Ms. Kopechne to die. The accident was not reported until eight hours after the car had sunk to the bottom of the river (June, 1969)

True story. Taught a writing class this fall. Began my rants about Ted Kennedy as I do tend to talk about things political. Well hey, they might want to write about it! ;)

Only ONE student, out of seven, even knew about Chappaquidick. The rest were totally shocked.

Wind backward. Husband brother comes to visit. Born and grown in Massachusetts. Disgusted with Mass. Libs but that's another story.

Got to asking about Ted Kennedy. Got to asking why on earth the people of Mass. keep electing this man.

They had NO idea what I was talking about.

Well perhaps my brother in law had heard it, it seemed fuzzy how he reacted but he seemed to have a little clue. His wife never heard about it at all. Brother in law is about 39 years old, wife is a few years younger.

Whatever the amount of their knowledge, they little to none about it.

Time for conservatives across the land to start pointing this out. We've an entire generation know not a thing. The Moonbats have succeeded in changing history!

Killer Kennedy hasn't earned the right to condemn our president, our military and our intel.

Killer Kennedy is the poster boy for Totally Worthless Lunatic Libs.

The offensive needs to occur every time an Administration is on a talk show, answers a question or gives a speech.

Our elected republican representatives need to be doing this also. I suggest sending a message to your republican reps asking them to stand up and smack down these lying scumbags on the left.

What Kennedy really needs to learn is that his seditious politics don't automatically stop at the water's edge any better than that infamous Oldsmobile.
