Moments after failing to muster enough votes to pass a $51 billion deficit reduction bill in the House, even after dropping a controversial oil exploration provision, Republicans moved to elect a New Hampshire lawmaker to the newly-created post of House Majority Minority Leader.
Rep. Charles Bass, R-NH, one of the progressive Republicans who blocked the belt-tightening measure and opposes drilling for oil in the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge, will receive the new title along with the responsibility of leading opposition to his partys legislative agenda.
Its an honor to represent the members who call themselves Republicans, yet oppose much of the Republican platform, said Rep. Bass. The appointment of a House Majority Minority leader is an acknowledgement of the rich diversity under this big GOP tent.
You know what I say to this guy: GO JOIN THE DEMOCRATS: The real "minority" report him to the RINO club!
pelosi proposing anwr abortions is the best.
In Tennessee the GOP won the state senate for the first time EVER and then two RINO's crossed over and voted for a 'Rat to be the speaker of the senate.
Pathetic.
The dems have the majority. Put the dems and the rino crowd together and they have the majority in the house.
The rino main street republican crowd are really dems that are in our party to mess it up.
Bass is part of the democrat majority that is why we can't get anything done in congress.
And Frist is the worst. He puts people like Snowe and Chafee on key committees where they block legislation even getting to the floor. We don't even get the legislation to the floor to see the dems obstruct on building more refineries which chafee blocked in committee.
My sense of humor is not doing very well these days!
OMG! Could it get any worse?
The death spiral continues.
Once again we true conservatives are getting the middle finger salute from our GOP pols. A nice thank you for our support ay? We need to ruthlessly gut these RINO b@sTards out of the GOP. Thats our mission now!
Did anyone here notice this is from Scrappleface? Seriously, people...
When the satire is true it aint satire anymore.
Irregardless....I stand by my words. They are still valid nevertheless. We gots RINO problems we need to deal with.
Show me the voting for the new leader...
Sometimes satire does leave quite a mark. Ouch.
Just don't stand by the word "irregardless" -- it's not a word!
On a more serious note, I'm afeared that if you take out some of these RINOs, you'll get a Dim instead and go from the frying pan into the fire. That's the way it would seem in the northeast at least.
Oh well: he deserves it and maybe he'll take it to heart. How he will probably wonder why I mentioned his new leadership position.
Snookered me Scrappleface!
RINOs are Democrats who want to belong to the better country clubs.
I think he'll get the point!!!
Reality is always worse than satire.
The truth is, the Big Oil boys don't really want to put ANWR oil on the market because that would lower fuel prices and their profits.
In all probability, Charlie Bass likely received a wink-wink behind the scenes pat-on-the-back for derailing ANWR.
I second that: We True conseravtives need to weed them out in the primary season (because that is our only hope) toehr than a viable 3rd party (and that isn't going to happen anytime soon...)!
