I think that would be the hardest test of my temper would be to face this woman after she did something like that to my kid and not physically harm her. There is a poll on the page, and I definately think she should be fired for this.

Run her out of town. She's a bully.

Marlene should have to stand in front of the school for 8 hours a day for the rest of the school year with a sign stating what an incompetent piece of s#it she is.

eh... the principal was going on the word of the other kid. *shrug* I don't have a problem with shame being used to stop bad behavior. I have a problem with her not investigating better.

Will this child be scarred for life for this? Hardly. We treat our children too softly these days.

Dont know much about this teacher except that she is definitely a Democrat, they do this type of thing all the time --accuse people of wrongdoing and never apologising.

Ask George Bush or Rumsfield, or ask Harriet Miers.

What the hell kind of approach to discipline is that for an eight-year old, anyway? How is that supposed to get the child to distinguish between right and wrong, as opposed merely between getting caught or not caught? Add to that the fact the kid was innocent, well maybe the principal should be paraded around from class to class and called a liar and a moron.

Fire her.

First -- this "Principal" should re-parade the young girl to each and every class where she PUBLICLY accused the young girl of theft and lying and ADMIT PUBLICLY SHE WAS INNOCENT of the charges..and PUBLICLY apologize for the error.

Then, FIRE the bitch...

I was falsely accused of "making noises" in class by my fifth grade teacher, and I was PO'd then. This is even worse.

People like her are a good argument for bringing back stocks. A few hours of getting pelted with garbage would set her straight.

The principal is a rank coward. Abuse of an eight year-old child in public, but a private apology? Someone suggested having her stand in public for hours with a sign around her neck. Sounds good to me.

The Principal should have been made to take that little girl back to every class and apologize to her publicly so all the kids would know that the little girl is, in fact, innocent, and admit that she was wrong.

Principal Marlene Whitby paraded the girl from class to class last month, calling her a liar and thief.

The present-day Mr. Brockelhurst.

The principal should be fired
and the school board should be flogged.

Do jackasses like these EVER protect the right people?

-School board officials have refused to say what kind of discipline Whitby could face.-

Clearly (pun!) the invisible kind.

the hag should have to apologize publicly to the child involved & the parents...

further, this principal should have to go from class to class and apologize to all the students, teachers as well!

maybe next time she won't jump to conclusions so quickly...maybe

The good part is that certainly the whole school knows about this by now, and none of the kids have the slightest respect for this sorry excuse for a principal. I hope they taunt her by chanting "Liar, liar, pants on fire!".
