They are NOT Baptists, but they call themselves Calvinists. The American Baptist whatchacallit has disavowed and denounced these twisted, hate-filled, satan pleasers.
Pinging my list of patriots.....
I seriously doubt that. From what I've heard, this alleged "church" has only 22 adult members, including Phelps, 9 of his 13 grown children and their spouses, and maybe a grown grandkid or two. (There may even be 2 or 3 members of this "church" who aren't part of the Phelps family. I don't know). I think they usually only send about a half dozen or so of their professional provocateurs to any one event, so they can cover multiple events in one day.
Four of his 13 kids are estranged from the family and tell lurid tales of incredible abuse at the hands of their father when they were growing up. The other 9 are all lawyers (or disbarred lawyers like their thrice-disbarred father). For years they have made a very lucrative living by provoking individuals and government authorities to go after them, and then turning around and suing those people and collecting big out-of-court settlements. Check out Fred Phelps on Wikipedia.
Hate attracts some people.
Well now, the words of millions of Bushophobes infesting our Blue states certainly back you up here! (But the Phelps family is certainly not attracting any followers with their message of hate).
Perhaps someone will do it for them. :)
I will be in Greeley for the funeral today. Will look the situation over. If nothing else just being there will lend support to our fallen. Phelps is treading in dangerous territory. I have heard that he has been intimidated into not picketing in the past by bikers. My wife wants me to stay home. She knows my temper.
Thank for the ping. Words cannot convey the feelings I have for Phelps and his "Baptist" church. He is so unbelievably disgusting that he almost makes Kerry look good.....almost.
The internet slur "attention whore" comes to mind.
The radio said that there were "hundreds of counter-protestors" across the street from the idiots. You guys rock!!!!
Due to work obligations, I was not able to stop and participate. However, I was able to drive by.
God Bless the Union Colony Fire Department, who parked a ladder engine RIGHT IN FRONT of the protesters, and, raised the ladder a bit, obscuring the protesters.
And, across the street, in front of the church, not a semi truck, but a Prevost custom coach parked to obstruct their view as well.
Add in about 50+ flag-wavers, 20+ Harleys ("Peace through superior horsepower") revving their engines, and no one knew the protesters were ever there. I estimate a maximum of one dozen protesters showed up.
I HAVE PICTURES - but don't have a way to post - someone please send me a private message with an email address, and I'll be glad to send photos.
Heavy police presence EVERYWHERE.
"You're Going to Hell" (nice...at a funeral...)
"America is Evil"
"Don't Worship the Dead"
"Thank God for I.E.D.'s"
That and two other signs I can't decipher in my pictures.
God did perform some sort of miracle today as well - two of them....first, as far as I know, no violence.
Second, about two miles away was the Weld County Veteran's Day Memorial (I was there for a time as well - nice turnout) - two CO ANG F-16's did a flyby, and, also happened to fly over the Mormon Church as well - perhaps just coincidence, but, a nice added touch.
PFC Tyler Ryan Mackenzie passed by his church for the last time under a block long hall of American flags. There were veterans from World War II, Korea, Viet Nam, Desert Storm and Iraq. Prior there were a few infiltrators who were completely stiffled and humiliated. Basically they were something you would scrape off your shoes after walking through a kennel.
Law enforcement went out of their way to let the bikers and anti protestors present know they were welcome. When Fred Phelps protestors permit ran out at approx. five minutes before the funeral was to start they were sent packing fast fast fast. Evidently the bikers and veterans had a longer permit. God Bless America and God Bless PFC Tyler Ryan Mackenzie.
Phelps and his clan are pure evil.
One of my friends showed up with 125 American flags from the group Healing Fields. When she handed them out, some of the Marine Moms were close to tears.
The bikers I heard were excellent, reving their engines every time the piece of sh** protestors started chanting. I heard that one of the protestors had a sign that said "A good soldier is a dead soldier".
Their protest was an absolute failure and the response from Greeley was fantastic. Thanks to all who could make it. Hopefully I will have a couple of photos to post later.
All the Best,
I have a site that can host the picutres. Sending you a Freepmail with my email address.
I've been trying to email, but thanks to landlines - it keeps timing out. Will try to email a couple of you one photo at a time - sorry.

Because Phelps is not only anti-gay, he's also anti-American. He said that America and the West in general deserved disasters like 9/11, Katrina, and the Asian Tsunami because we basically coddle homosexuals. Apparently Phelps feels that anything less than executing or at least jailing hoimosexuals is coddling.
