Mary Mapes Names Names ("Anonymous" Ones)
Posted by Bill
An excerpt from page 201 of her new book:
Within minutes of Buckhead's original posting, Freepers began to repeat and embellish Buckhead's thoughts. Not surprisingly, they all agreed with him, they all agreed with one another, and they all agreed this should be pursued aggressively. Freethinkers they are not. The Freepers and their lockstep like-minded fellow travelers moved as a group, like a school of sharks sweeping toward an unaware and unarmed victim. CBS was like some sunburned, overweight Florida tourist with a cut foot, floundering and flapping in the water alone in the surf. The Freepers swarmed CBS not because it was right or fair but because they could. On Web sites such as Powerline, INDC Journal, Allahpundit, and Spacetownusa, the bravehearts of the blogging world worked anonymously in what appeared to be huge numbers, in unison, to destroy the Bush-Guard story, to uphold one another's wild and hateful claims, to outshout, outargue, and outblog anyone who dared to disagree. And on their Web sites there is no disagreement. They hate in unison, they speak with one angry voice, they each make themselves bigger by staying as close together as possible.

Mapes appeared on O'Reilly tonight and skated the whole time.
She is in complete denial about the documents. She believes the president is in denial when he said he believes that he didn't receive preferential treatment in the ANG.
She said that the "Bloggers" grrr I think that means us, totally freaked CBS out and threw them into a shear panic mode.
She looked very bitter, broken, depressed, and defensive about the whole thing.
Bill said CBS sent him a memo stating "She's the Devil" just before the show. He may have been kidding but he didn't laugh or state it as such.
She wouldn't even admit that she couldn't prove the authenticity of the documents, she still believes they're real. What a lost soul, she wouldn't even admit her political party affiliation, as if. lol

The Freepers swarmed CBS not because it was right or fair but because they could. Because they could prove that you are a liar, Mary. Just because you used to get by with all of the lies doesn't mean that it will continue without people holding you to account. That's what you don't like about it isn't it, Mary?!

CBS was like some sunburned, overweight Florida tourist
which should have melanoma or other health problems.

Mary sez it is up to "us" (the critics) to prove her wrong.
Okay. Fine.
Hand over the ORIGINAL typed and hand signed letter.
Lying *itch.

Easy way to tell when those original documents were made if the ORIGINALS would ever surface. The left claimed that a handwriting expert authenticated the signature.
Of course if you cut and paste a photocopy and then fax it, who's to say it wasn't his signature. May never have been on that computer printed letter though.

That not even type setters of the era could have made those documents without serious effort. It would have taken not only "serious effort", but it would have to have been aided and abetted by "serious luck".
For a skilled typesetter of the era to have matched the kerning feature of MS Word some twenty years prior to its introduction would have been a jillion-to-one shot (conservatively speaking).

worked anonymously... How many outside of CBS knew who Mapes was until the flub-up bit went public? She is only known by the public because she got caught trying to bowl them over.
I know she thinks that she was a very important person, but to the outside world she is nothing. Methinks this has left the gal a tad bitter.
The gal had visions of grandeur, of being the 21st Century's Bob Woodward or Carl Bernstein. She obviously managed to convince herself that this story was true, even as others took it apart. In the end, it imploded.
I really can't take these folks seriously. What a bunch of stuffed shirts.

Isn't she referring to the MSM?
My thoughts exactly. Yet another example of
Olds Media projection.

I looked into her eyes and saw all I need to know.Know exactly what you mean. I saw her on BOR tonight and the camera panned on her as the interview was ending and I was struck by the mean-eyes she was giving him. I know that look. I fully expected a bolt of lightening to hit him. She is one sour faced woman who could not give a straight answer if her life depended on it.

The internet is the new Fourth Estate.
This simple fact angers them most, IMHO. We call BS when we SeeBS. SeeBS trying bluff its way out by posing with attitude only makes it worse.

That last sentence is The Boston Globe, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, The Minneapolis Star Tribune, The Austin Statesman American, and dozens of like minded "news organizations" adhering like bondo to the democratic party line.
The mere mention of the words
The Boston Globe remind me of the story about two morons seriously discussing a hoax a week after the Inet debunked the story as porn stills interspersed with Abu Grahib photos.

the book that attempts to rewrite the history of this complex and sad affair.
The Inet considerably raises the bar to revisionists trying to change history.
