Rep. Sue Myrick (R-N.C.) let slip a bombshell disclosure at a news conference today to announce a bill targeting states that allow illegal aliens to get drivers licenses.
During the Q&A with reporters, Myrick gave as a reason for proposing the bill the recent capture of three al Qaeda terrorists at the U.S.-Mexico border.
A check of Google News turned up no references to this incident, yet Myrick stated this was a 'given fact.'
No reporter asked her about this revelation, but it was noted at the end of a Charlotte Observer article by Tim Funk.
Two Representatives from North Carolina, Virginia Foxx (R) and Patrick McHenry (R) stood with Myrick at the press conference. Neither commented on her matter of fact statement.
Rep. Myrick's remarks can be heard online at her Congressional Website here. the statement is made at about 8:45 into the press conference.
A call placed to Myrick's office in D.C. was not answered as the office is closed for the evening.
Transcript:
"Our main concern is, who's in our state? I mean this is a critical issue today. I mean they just arrested down on the border, what a couple of weeks ago, three al Qaeda members who came across from Mexico into the United States. I mean that's a given fact. They were holding them in the jail down there."

great post.
Of course someone would blow it for the ones that pick fruit and mow lawns. Terrorist killjoys.
Well said, burzum! And your advice, "Lets not be tunnel sighted and only focus on the last type of attack. We need to be prepared for the next type of attack: think boxing.", is perfect!
"This isn't aimed at any one race," Myrick said. Our main concern is: Who's in our state? This is a critical issue today. They just arrested, down on the border, a couple of weeks ago, three al Queda members who came across from Mexico into the United States."

Canada welcomes jihadis with open arms and gives them generous welfare benfits. The Cnandian govt. and elites are probably 100 times more anti-American than your average Mexican.
And the islmofascists have large muslim populations where they can blend in such cities close to the US border such as Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver.
BTW, the US/Canada border is 1,000 miles longer and is unfortified.

Don't bring facts to threads like this.
Don't bring propoganda either. Even if it is Republican propoganda. Those 19 terrorists were here before we were attacked and had 3000 people killed. Now we are at war and fighting to save our nation. Should we learn from our mistakes or repeat them? We are not stupid!!
Along with the cheap labor that repub business owners love will come al-quida terrorists to murder your children.
John Culberson, I believe.
thanks for your post, DD.

"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government,
1. The act of invading; the act of encroaching upon the rights or possessions of another; encroachment; trespass.
Yeah such people crossing the border as tim mcveigh and johnny jihad(john walker lindh).
Oh yeah let's not forget the shoe bomber, richard reeves, who was trying to blow up his foot crossing the Rio Grande.
For certain.
But let's not jump on the "see, it's Bush's fault terrorists are entering America because he hasn't secured the borders" bandwagon.
Yup, the borders need help.
Yup, the terrorists come across our boundaries on ground (Canada, Mexico, watercraft, etc).
You can put a Great Wall Of China around us and STILL you will have Al Queda entering America. It is their agenda. It is their agenda that brings them to (ANY) American point of entry. That is my point. And yes, we have been breaking up terrorist cells now for sometime. I can't guarantee it, but my thoughts are there are more in America now than will be passing the Mexican border any time soon.
Seal the borders for the sake of sealing the borders, period. But don't blame Al Queda being here on "open borders" (not saying you specificaly are). They are going to come, period.
THOUSANDS cross the souther border, daily, about which you willing turn a blind eye. This has amounted to MILLIONS....in fact, there's so many illegals who have come in from the southern border, the "authorities" even say it isn't "feasible" to round them up....they don't know the precise number, where they are, who they are, or even where they're all from. But they do know the jails are filled, though, with illegals from the southern border.....and weekly we hear/see stories concerning crimes committed by illegals from the southern border, i.e., rapes and child molestations.
Yet, you insist on the northern border being THE problem to which our attention should be focused.
Logic and prudence dictates ALL THE BORDERS BE CLOSED.
Hey isn't it illegal to ride in the back of a pickup? ;)
