"We have reasons to believe that wisdom will prevail in the districts affected by the violence," he told Europe 1 radio.

?????? Now doesn't this say it all? We need this man to head up the United Nations!

There is no way, no way!, this is simply a widespread protest against economic conditions, as I have heard commentator after commentator state. The scale of these 'attacks', the common targets (e.g. schools, municipal services buildings) and the organization to accomplish it on a national scale, speak to a well coordinated and organized campaign.

Don't get all excited. The operative word is "convicted".

Actually the report says about 110 foreign citizens have been found who participated in this.

They've already convicted those people. The French have instituted courts to try rioters almost immediately. There have already been 3 or 4 month sentences handed down to people arrested during the rioting.

Are the frenchies finally going to grow a pair?

I suspect it's just a political move. Sarkozy knows that 3/4 of the country backs harsh penalties and Chirac won't lift a finger against the "youths". Sarkozy's just trying to stir trouble for Chirac and his cronies.

You've got to really work the web to find photos. I've been stumbling through sites in French, German, Dutch, Spanish and other languages I don't speak, just to find the images the MSM doesn't want us to see.

The French have instituted courts to try rioters almost immediately.

When any incidents happen in San Francisco, such as burning cars, attacking police horses, etc - sure, people are arrested, but then they're let go (by the 100s). Nothing ever comes of it. I'm surprised that France is acting so speedily, and with actual sentences. And, now, with actual deportations.

any person convicted of violent participation

Interesting.

You can't "deport" citizens, so this wouldn't apply to natural born citizens that riot.

If you only deport "convicted" rioteers, then that means that they were rioteers that were illegal aliens and/or deportable.

So, unconvicted rioteers, or just plain old illegal aliens, apparently, would not be deported.

Unclear...

Does he propose to equally deport illegals and native born cockroaches?
I hope so.
"Foreign" precedent", after all, carries some weight with some of our Supreme Court justices...

Turns out after checking that the French can't find anyone to deport.
